The Insite has learned ch. 13 reporter Darren Lyn has received a promotion of sorts within the ABC family. We're told Lyn is head to the sports network ESPN as a reporter. Sources say he will likely be based out of Houston and report on our various sports teams here. He could also work as a replacement reporter in other markets around the country. Way to go Darren!

Daren is a good guy. He deserves a break like this. He's one of the few reporters in Houston who can tell a good story.

Seems interested and excited about sports, but maybe he would be a bit more comfortable covering events like figure skating or gymnastics. His energy doesn't feel right for the tougher sports.
