IT WAS A BLOODY WEEKEND IN HOUSTON!

MURDER AFTER MURDER AFTER MURDER!

I was wondering exactly what was going on in Houston this past weekend as I received press release after press release from the Houston police department. It was one bloody murder after another in the city of Houston. Here are the death notices I received with five of them happening overnight Saturday. There could be more as we close this weekend. Anyone has any ideas if there was something in the water?

Here's the list of murders:

Houston police are investigating the death of a man found at 12600
Hillcroft about 5:20 a.m. today (Mar. 25).

The identity of the male victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to the
chest, is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's
office.

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8600
Southwest Freeway about 2:10 a.m. on Saturday (Mar. 24).

The victim, Bobby Eugene Ward, 24, of 414 East 3rd Street in Stowell,
Texas suffered a gunshot wound to the face and was pronounced dead at
2425 West Loop South where he fled.

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the
wounding of another at 4700 Maxie about 1:40 a.m. today (Mar. 25).

The deceased victim, Sergio Garcia, 30, of 4700 Maxie suffered a
gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he
died. A second unidentified victim suffered a gunshot wound and was
also transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in an unknown condition.

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 2710 W.
Bellfort about 3:25 a.m. on Saturday (Mar. 24).

The victim, Rene Chaney Knox, 26, of 3901 Omeara #150 suffered multiple
gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a Katrina
evacuee from New Orleans.

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in connection with
the death of a man found at 1318 Rosalie about 6:30 a.m. on Saturday
(Mar.24).

The suspect, Steven Mark Weinstein (w/m, DOB 1/4/65), is currently
charged with tampering with evidence in the 339th State District Court.
He is accused of tampering with evidence surrounding the death of an
unknown male victim found at Weinstein's residence. The victim's
identity and his cause of death are pending an autopsy by the Harris
County Medical Examiner's office.

Houston police are investigating the death of a man found at 100 East
Freeway about 4:25 p.m. on Friday (Mar. 23).

The identity of the male victim and the cause of death are pending an
autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

I wonder if Chief Hurtt got clued in to these stats this morning when he flew back in from Phoenix? I can see it now, every Monday morning after he "commutes" to work from AZ he gets the "While you were away sir..." report. Shameful.

I knew Weinstein when we were in high school. He'd been the person to get me to join Choir and helped me make friends. I only saw his selfish nasty side sometimes but it was enough to make me feel he was totally capable of murder if he didn't get his way.
