THE HOUSTON ASTROS OWNER HOST CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATE JAMES RODRIGUEZ!

BUILDING THE POLITICAL WAR CHEST AT THE DIAMOND CLUB!

Houston city council candidate James Rodriguez has a big gun supporting him. Drayton McLane, the owner of the Houston Astros. McLane hosted a private fundraiser for Carol Alvarado's former chief of staff Thursday evening in the Diamond Club at Minute Maid Park. James is also a former bat boy for the team. The Insite dropped by so late that I missed McLane and the speech he gave on behalf of Rodriguez. The guests dined on baseball park food to miniature hamburgers and chicken sandwiches. They were also treated to free libations at the event. Several familiar faces were in attendance including: Former Congressman Chris Bell, Greenspan, Peter Brown, Sue Lovell, Carol Alvarado, Mark Campos, Pam Gardner, Al Luna, Nef Patrida, Jose Soto, Gilbert Rodriguez, Raymond Turner, Melaney Linton, and a host of others. Here are the pictures I snapped in my 15 minute visit to the event!

Note: Rodriguez is seeking the seat in District I which will soon be vacated by Carol Alvarado!

This event was awesome! Not only did we all hang out in the diamond club with Drayton(!) but we got to go out on the field and have our pictures taken at home plate and down in the clubhouse. I got mine in front of biggio's locker! oh hell yeah.

James's face and logo were even on the big screen. This was by far the coolest political fundraiser I have ever been to. The Astros definitely know how to throw a party!
