PREPARING FOR A MAJOR POLITICAL RACE!
Former Houston Police Chief C.O. Bradford made it official in a room full in the downtown Aquarium Tuesday evening. With his wife Dee on hand he said he wanted to make a difference and bring a district attorney's office that's fair in the community. Bradford says Harris County needs a district attorney who serves the people and not for his own political survival. The lawyer/former cop says there is a crime problem in our community and it will be his goal to address it. Several of Bradford's supporters attended the standing room only event. On that list: Former Mayor Lee Brown, Constable May Walker, Captain Smokie Philips, Peter Brown, Carl 'The New Hammer' Davis, Damon Williams, Councilman Peter Brown, Kathryn Griffin Townsend, HPD Cop Katherin Swilley, Hilton Koch, Jolonda Jones, Wanda Adams, Rev. James Nash and the list goes on!

Yeah I think harris county is run a lot better than the city. CO has the right to run but Chuck will beat him hands down. If Chuck was such a bad person than he would have not been re elected

Rosenthal is a terrible prosecutor. Over 80 assistant DA's have left during his tenure. It's a thankless job. Compared to the money attorneys can make in private practice, who the heck wants to work with him? He's too involved in carrying water for his political party instead of carrying out justice on behalf of the residents of Harris County. Someone needs to replace him. Chief Bradford is a good guy and a hard worker. I hope he wins.

Nice supporters, May Walker who was worthless as an HPD Officer, and then wrote a book while she worked for Brown which contained so many spelling errors is was a running joke for years, and then Smokey Phillips who was ran off from the Sheriffs Office, and then you add "out of town Brown"...Real nice supporters..
Bradford has a chance to upset Chuck in 2008 ya know if Bradford can get African American and Hispanic turnout to the polls in droves.
Harris County is going to turn Democratic sooner or later like Dallas did last year.
The Texas GOP knows this too, they know people are going to get sick and tired of them sooner or later and I expect Paul Hobby (D) to win the State Comptroller's office against Combs in 2010 and Garry Mauro (D) to win back his old job as State Land Commissioner.
We could see the 2010 Texas Lieutenant Governor's race coming down to State Attorney General Greg Abbott (R) and Laredo mulitmillionaire businessman Tony Sanchez (D), Sanchez can pull it off.
Unfortunately, State Railroad Commission Chairman Michael L. Williams (R) is going to be the next Texas State Attorney General in 2010 over former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk (D) and sadly, Governor Rick Perry (R) will win re-election to his 3rd and likely final term in 2010.
Who ever knew Houston was so race driven.....I guess its still the south.

Bottom line is that Bradford will do to the D.A's office what he did to the HPD's crime lab. Sure he has his law degree, but has he ever even tried a case? This election should not be based on one's race, but their qualifications. Don't you think that a D.A. should at least have had some trial experience? I

I guess this leaves the Sheriff's Office still locked in by the incumbent.
