DOES IT MAKE YOU NERVOUS ABOUT DRIVING ON HOUSTON HIGHWAYS?

THE HOLE ON 59!

A large hole that opened up in the middle lane of a three-lane exit ramp that goes from the 610 West Loop to the Southwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 59) caused a major backup for drivers going home Monday afternoon.

Repair crews were working on the hole, which was discovered around midday, and traffic in all lanes of the south loop was backed up early in the afternoon.

Two of the exit lanes go to 59 South while the third goes to 59 downtown.

In addition, Richmond eastbound lanes, which are directly below the ramp, is reportedly littered with cement debris from the ramp above and is expected to be closed through the evening as TxDot officials are coming to inspect the damage..
