Police arrested a homeless man on suspicion of jaywalking Wednesday morning. Reports stated authorities observed the suspect walking in the middle of the eastbound lane in the 5000 block of Spencer around 12:51 a.m. They approached the man and questioned him. "He identified himself," said Vance Mitchell, spokesperson for the Pasadena Police Department. "He stated he was homeless and was en route to Dickinson." Police alleged the man changed his story upon further questioning. "He changed his story, saying he was actually behind the restaurant in the area," said Mitchell. The man became increasingly aggressive when authorities asked him what he was doing there, prompting an arrest. "Based on his evasive responses and disrespectful attitude, the suspect was arrested for failing to cross the roadway at a designated point," said Mitchell. "Police transported him to jail and booked him on jaywalking without incident."

This doesn't necessarily surprise me given that the Pasadena police are a sorry excuse for safety in Pasadena. They spend more time picking up homeless people and giving people tickets for making right hand turns at a red light, then they do actually fighting crime. Whenever we called in suspicious cars, banging on doors, and car break in, it would literately take them hours on some instances.
ReplyDeleteNow, I am certain that not all of them are like that, but when more than half of them do not effectively do their job, it is a problem.
