MICHAEL BERRY COMES OUT ON TOP WITH A LANDSLIDE AMOUNT!After a week long poll here on the Insite Houstonians have casted more than 400 votes for the person they believe should be the next Mayor of Houston. The envelope please...The winner with the landslide amount of 57% of the votes - and no need for a runoff - Houston City Councilman and talk show host Michael Berry. Meanwhile, 13% of the voters said they haven't seen their candidate yet. Another 12% of those participating chose the city's chief of staff of operations Terence Fontaine. Coming in with 6% of the votes is State Representative Sylvester Turner. Orlando Sanchez and Peter Brown both claimed 5% of the voters respectively. So there you have it. The election results to the Insite's Who Should Be Mayor of Houston Poll. Do you agree? And what do you think should be the next poll here on The Insite?

I hope Michael does run for Mayor.. Houston needs some young blood in there. I think after the last 3 mayors we need a younger mind in there. We can't do any worse. Michael.. You have JOLO's endorsement
Thank goodness for the Insight. I saw Michael yesterday and he looked like he was about to cry because he was so far behind. Isiah, you know he can't take rejection.
Say, thank you Carl!!
If I could vote against Michael Berry, I would, but I live out in the county where everything that we do is affected by the mayor and city council yet we can't vote. Hmm, the liberals don't want ANYONE to have to show photo ID when they vote because it is "racist", so maybe I will just go vote anyway. If I find a good liberal district, they should just wave me on in.
Oh, before someone starts yelling at me, that was a joke. I would vote against Berry if I could, though, and I think he will make a TERRIBLE mayor if he is ever elected.
Congratulations to Mayor Pro-tem Michael Berry. Michael has been very supportive of me since joining the Mayor's staff four years ago. For those who don't know he's not bad after hours either.
Good luck Michael in whatever you decide to do.
Terence Fontaine
I am disappointed that Michael has not been on his job as a CM after promising that his radio gig would not interfere. When was the last time he showed up for a council meeting?
Just because its his last term does not mean that he gets a pass. He still gets a check from taxpayers.
I have known Mike for a while now, he is truly a nice person and that's what this city need is young leaders with new ideas and direction.
As president of the Black deputies league, I see the setbacks that we have fought for disappearing under our leaders today... It's time to pass these torches and let Houston and Harris County young mines lead.
Good luck my friend in whatever you decide to do.

To the Haters: to Hell with you.
To Smokie, JOLO, Terence, and many more of you who sent nice email messages today: thanks. I'm not running, but your support is nice to see.
I've been blessed with the opportunity to serve as a public servant for the past 6 years.
I'll enjoy my return to being a private citizen. I'm not leaving my passion for shaping public policy and public opinion, as I'll be running 3 radio stations and doing my afternoon show on NewsRadio 740 KTRH.
Upon leaving public office, let me say: there WILL be haters, but serving is worth it. Those of you with a big heart and a willingness to serve, get in there and make our community better.
Isiah, you're a class act. Thanks for the kind words.
Michael Berry
Well, Mike had my vote untill I saw that Smokie was in his corner. I'm afraid that does not help you, Michael. Oh well. It's alla mute point anyhow. When the next election comes around Adrian Gonzales will take it by a landslide anyhow. Anyone care to guess why?
ahahaha...I said "Mute". I meant "moot". Duhhh...
I want to know who Adrian Gonzales it...did you mean Adrian Garcia?
Eh, what's the diff? Yeah, I meant Garcia. I love how anything at all to do with him starts off with the fact that he an HPD officer for, what, 30 minutes or so? Oh well. It realy does not matter anymore. The city is so far in the shit-basket that it will never be pulled out, and thanks to METRO and extreamly loose lending practices for home purchases, now the county is following suit. At least Joe Horn's neighborhood has potential...
Well I guess Mike, Smokie, Adrian got them hater's......Black, White and Brown, them hater's gonna always be around......
