ABBEY NIEZGODA TAKES 1ST PLACE FOR BREAKING NEWS IN NEW ENGLAND ASSOCIATED PRESS AWARDS!

THE AWARDS JUST KEEP COMING!

Congratulations to Abbey Niezgoda. She continues to impress us here in Houston with her exceptional skills as a future journalist. Abbey was awarded the 1st place New England Associated Press Award for Breaking News in the college category. She is the first underclassman at Emerson College to take the award. The award came after Abbey and her photographer actually took a cab to a breaking news scene where there was carbon monoxide leak in Boston.

You may remember it was just one year ago when Niezgoda was given a proclamation by former Houston City Councilman Michael Berry for her amazing skills in the debate arena.

Abbey picked up her plaque at the AP awards last Friday just outside of Boston. By the way, Abbey happens to be the daughter of FOX 26 Managing Editor Carolyn Mungo. Way to go Abbey!
