MORE EXCITEMENT THAN THE INSITE CAN STAND IN ONE SUNDAY AFTERNOON!
On the way to work Sunday I made a quick stop on Airline and Hall to get a tire plugged. It's in northeast Houston. I tell you this is probably one of the most dangerous areas in our city. In the 15 minutes I was there I witnessed 2 hit and run accidents. One truck hit a car and then drove off. The other was a car slamming into a SUV and the driver of the car also took off. In both cases the victims pursued the drivers who hit them. Then there was almost a third accident but the drivers managed to avoid hitting each other. But the fun didn't end there. There was another instance where two people were driving down Airline and arguing from car to car. One passenger was hanging out of the window yelling at the other driver while pointing his finger very angrily. I asked the tire repair guy what was going on. He immediately blamed the flea markets just down the road. I still don't get how the flea market can affect how adults behave on a Sunday afternoon. Anyway, when I left the tire repair shop there was like bumper to bumper traffic in front of those flea markets along Airline. I have never seen so many people out and about without a major concert. I almost hit a couple of them who just walked in front of my moving car to get from one side of the flea market to the other. Maybe it is the flea market!
Have you ever been to this part of town and what was it like for you?

LOL!!
This is one of the funniest stories all week and Im compelled to comment.
First of all, Im pretty sure that there are reasonable places in the woodlands or northern montgomery county where you can get a tire repared on a Sunday wihout having to venture into the hood and deal with the side shows...
Not saying that every place is with out drama, I just try to avoid it as much as possible. Hit and runs.. translation I don't have insurance, Im illegial, and I got warrants..
Isiah - I suppose that you have learned from your mistake of driving through the pulgas on Airline on a Sunday afternoon. It's like that every week. Bet you won't do that again. Unless you really like playing human Frogger while the paid officers/deputies chill out in their golf carts in the middle of Airline.
Thanks for the warning...if I ever venture over there I'm going to pack heat. haha
I used to live near there before it got too bad. And yes, what Jolo said is very often true, no ins/lisence/green card + warrants + reckless driving/walking/booze = hit and run accidents and road rage.
Ain't open borders just grand?
i'm tripping that you traveled the Green Mile just to get a tire plugged. lol
Hey Guys,
I didn't know what I was getting into...Once you know better - you do better - cut me some slack!
The Insite
Man tell everybody you have a Hood pass.
Well it is Mexico over there. Now you know how people live in Mexico. That is the way of life and the culture. You dont need a drivers license, they laugh at car insurance and its not a Sunday unless you have a 12 pack down by 6pm. ICE could go out there and get 500 illegals in a day
Never been to Houston but that description was priceless!
