Hey Isiah, it appears the caucasian lady is serving the crawfish. I don't recall the Jaguars having very many white alumni that are active in raising money for scholarships here in Houston.
ReplyDeleteTracy when did you last count how many caucasian ladies graduated from Southern? Is there something wrong with that? There must be or you would not have mentioned it. Besides it looks like she is recieving the crawfish to me which makes her a donator.
ReplyDeleteLook we're White! We can do what ever we want!
ReplyDeleteTo anonymous, stop hiding and say who you really are. Look at the damn picture stupid, she is wearing food handlers gloves that would indicate she is serving. I don't remember Southern's colors being purple either. Look at the blue hat and shirt sitting down. Yes there are white Southern University alumni, but usually they get that degree never to be seen again, and usually only attend because they didn't have the grades to get accepted to another university.
ReplyDeleteHey anonymous, go to the website at the end of the story and do tell what you see.
ReplyDeleteOK so she IS serving- the point of the second post is still the same. Most white people don't go to Southern for a few reasons.
ReplyDelete1) it is an HBC and as one has virtually no diversity and probably never will unless they change the label.
2) there are a lot better schools to attend- even in Louisiana. Schools that are better run with stronger programs.
3) ok there are just two reasons, but the fact that a white woman is being ridiculed for helping out an HBC is sad, and for the record white people usually give back to their schools in far greater numbers than other groups.
Because they have more students stupid A$$! Also, because usually their fathers went to the same school and help them get in and after they graduate they help daddy run the country oops I mean run the company. We don't have it that easy!
ReplyDeleteHelping out, yeah right. I could be wrong, but I am sure she was contracted to prepare the crawfish, for a fee of course. The point is saying one thing but doing another. For example, I was on the Houston alumni website and they chose to have their Mardi Gras ball at the University of Houston. What happened to supporting black organizations supporting black buisinesses and black colleges.
ReplyDelete"What happened to supporting black organizations supporting black buisinesses and black colleges."
ReplyDeleteWhat world are you living in? You actually think it is acceptable to only deal with black businesses and colleges? There really arent anymore black colleges, just HBC's and as for businesses, unless you ONLY hire black people which is illegal and immoral, there is no such thing.
Thanks for the explanation Shawn- I for one am glad to hear you used a Louisiana company- there is so much competion with the imported crawfish and all...
ReplyDeleteYea Shawn I'm sure when Isiah put this up he had no idea it would be so controversial. But what we're reading on here are petty people nit picking a picture. I would suggest to Ike that he changes the picture. The readers were apparently missing the point. It's not about a white woman serving crawfish but it's about raising money to help educate young african americans. Stay on track people.
ReplyDeleteCome on Ike - you've been punked out. You changed the picture. Now we have nothing to fight about. Where's that Jaguar spirit you used to have -
ReplyDeleteJust kidding,
Kevin
Grambling would never use an all white catering service!
ReplyDeleteHey Shawn 187, thanks for the explanation, but I don't agree with the bottom line theory. What's a few extra dollars compared to supporting one of your own. Anonymous, it is not illegal or immoral to hire people who look like us, they do it all the time. It is called the good ol boy network. Mike G., petty I don't think so, you'd better not be Mike G. in Baton Rouge, I know where you live. Seriously, when they earn our money, it never makes it back into our community. Shawn 187, they catering company has provided great service and price over the years but how much have they donated to your cause. Lastly, anonymous you are right Grambling alumni would never do that.
ReplyDelete"the good ole boy network" is acceptable? It is racist and is dispicable. Usually a person is embarrased to even be accused of being in the good ole boy network.
ReplyDelete"Usually a person is embarrased to even be accused of being in the good ole boy network."
ReplyDeleteDo you really expect us to believe that? Hey Tracy, they really think we are stupid.
