RAISING MONEY FOR A GOOD CAUSE IN THE BAYOU CITY!!!!
1980'S TV Star Teri Garr was in Houston Thursday. She was hoping to bring attention to the debilitating disease multiple sclerosis. The star of Tootsie and other 80's hits spoke in River Oaks at a fundraiser. Walking in the ballroom with a slight limp, Garr was diagnosed with the illness back in 1999. She says "MS is to disease like what Enron is to financing...it's all over the place, it's a big fat cheater, it has it's own rules..." More than 400,000 people in the country are afflicted with multiple sclerosis...Great to have you in town Teri. Good luck to you.
I think Teri Garr is more of a movie star. SHe was in Young Frankenstein, Mr. Mom, Tootsie and many more movies.
ReplyDeletei think from what i read on most ms sites, most people with ms don't feel she is a good spokesperson. she does not represent the ms community well.
ReplyDeletemany ms victims feel she down plays ms and what it is really like to live with it. she is paid very well by the drug company she uses and thats ok, but come on- "ms is no big deal" what an ass.
sorry to disapoint you in your affection to ms. garr.
start reading how ms's really feel about her!
I saw Terry Garr stop in the bathroom of a Chevron on Westheimer. She ran in quite a rush. Apparently, she had diarrhea. No news as to wheather she has irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), or Chron's disease for that matter. I just calls em like I sees em.
ReplyDeletems. garr has ms. that means she may have to "rush" to the bathroom from time to time, because she may not be able to hold her water in. that does not mean she has diarrhea. that is not our business anyway. she has enough problems.
ReplyDeletehowever, i will say this. the above commenter was correct about the people with ms who don't appreciate ms. garrs comments about ms. she is a paid spokesperson (and very well) for the drug company (and i'm sure they give her free meds, that cost other ms's at least around 20,000.00 yes, folks that number is correct 20, 000.00 per year.) so when she goes on national t.v. and says: ms is no big deal . well, really is that representing the ms community right?! what a load of bullshit!!!!!
ms. garr needs to stay home and keep her piehole shutup if she can't tell the truth and tell it like it really is. so many people really suffer so bad with this and she knows that. what a shithead!!!!
Well, I was there for the appearance. And you won't believe what really happened. MS. Garr actually walked up to the podium, pulled down her pants, and began defecating all over the stage. She mumbled to herself all crazy-like, then raised her voice to the audience declaring, "Go fu*k yourselves. Every last one of you. I love MS and you can't stop me."
ReplyDeleteWhen I looked over the stage the fecal matter was formed into a perfect "M-S" configuration. A Christmas miracle, indeed.
It sounds like Terry Garr made some really important stops whilst in Houston.
