KHOU MAKES IT OFFICIAL AND PUBLIC!!!!!

Houston's Belo-owned KHOU-11-CBS has hired former New York WNYW-5-Fox news anchor Len Cannon, who was displaced 17 months ago by the arrival of Ernie Anastos.
"It became a little frustrating at times waiting for the right opportunity," he admitted.
He'll be paired with former WABC-7 anchor Greg Hurst on the station's 6 p.m. newscast.

Some 17 months after learning he was being replaced at WNYW/Ch. 5 by Ernie Anastos, Len Cannon has landed a full-time anchor job - in Houston.
Cannon will head to Texas early next month, followed later by his wife, Bernadette Verzosa, an award-winning freelance producer at WCBS/Ch. 2.
"We're excited, we really are," Cannon said of the anchor job at KHOU-TV. "We're sad, of course, to leave New York." Cannon said the extended time away was good because he was able to visit with friends and family. He also worked freelance at Court TV. But looking for work also wasn't fun. "It became a little frustrating at times waiting for the right opportunity," he admitted. Houston hadn't been on his radar until his agent called. But once he met station brass - he knew the news director from college - and saw KHOU's news, he realized it was a good move. He'll be paired with former WABC/Ch. 7 anchor Greg Hurst on the station's 6 p.m. newscast. "It's all about the news, it's not about bells and whistles, it's not about tricking the audience, it's about great news," he said. "It was a really good fit in that regard."
Cannon will be on the air starting April 17. "I'm actually thrilled at how they do stuff," he said, "and their philosophy."
