DOES HE HAVE THE RIGHT TO KEEP 'RE-ELECT' ON HIS SIGNS?
The Insite received a call about a small controversy brewing in the Third Ward. It involves the State Representative race between Borris Miles and Al Edwards. Now, here is the controversy: If you drive through the ward you will notice the campaign signs of both men indicate they're seeking re-election. The candidates, who have both held the position as State Representative in the district, tell voters to re-elect them. Some say Al Edwards should remove the re-election because he's not actually being sent back to Austin. You may remember Miles defeated Edwards for the position to become the representative of district 146. So the question is: Do both men have the right to use 're-election' on their campaign signs? The Insite would love to hear your opinion on this issue!
Yes he does!
ReplyDeleteWhat's the problem? AL Edwards has been our Representative before. So this is not his 1st time. This will be his 2nd time, fighting to RE-GAIN his District 146 seat again.
ReplyDeleteSo he's correct it should say,
"RE-Elect AL Edwards" who will be back in office.
Remember yall, Borris Miles has not yet given a public apology on his behavior. He has not explained why he did what he did at the St. Regis hotel.
So AL is correct, his board signs should read,
"RE-Elect AL Edwards" who will be back in office.
Remember yall, Borris Miles has not yet, gave a public apology on his behavior. He has not explained why he did, what he did at the St. Regis hotel.
Being sick with pneumonia is not good enough!
If Borris Miles is Bipolar? Then we should not have him in office. Borris is gonna shoot another person next time, and it won’t be behind any robbery. That boy needs to be stop now!
NAACP is a joke and that is why, I won’t join it. They should request Borris too step down.
Also Muhammad & Quarnell X is a joke. Tomorrow morning, they’re having a rally in front to City Hall. Asking for Rosenthall to step down.
They need to add Borris Miles name on that same list.
Am I the only African American person that’s embarrassed, behind Borris behavior? Which reflect and entwine with his political image. Regardless of the work he has done. All of that has been mentally demolished, from allot of the voters view point standards.
Steve
Ok, but TJ Baker has always mislead the people of our community and nobody says anything about that.
ReplyDeleteShe didn't give up her seat to my granny.
Al Edwards is a dinosaur, a relic from a forgotten age. 146 should go forward, not back to the 20th century.
ReplyDeleteRemember, Al Edwards is the guy who wanted to ban cheer leading and school dance squads in Texas-- said they were to provocative. Talk about authoring/championing stupid legislation! It had nothing to do with the betterment of Texas of District 146...laughable.
Al Edwards represents the shoe-shuffling, "yessir boss", tap dancing old guard of Houston...trying to hold on to what little perceived "power" they have.
Time to go people, time to go.
Hey Steve, I guess you think Bill Clinton should have been removed from office because he got some "brain" in oval office, right? Maybe that's over you head...no pun intended.
Non Traditional also don't for get that this is the same so called DEMOCRAT that was all on Craddick D**K trying to get the best seat on powerful committees. Come on Dems lets play strategy on this one. Do you really want to give a vote back to Craddick. Al Edwards is running as a DEM but come on is he really going to play nice with you in the next session. Hell no. He will be back with his republican alies that didnt turn their backs on him.
ReplyDeleteIs it right to place signs on vacant lots, if politicians can then why can other business?
ReplyDeleteThis is a ploy to mislead voters, especially those who do not follow politics.
ReplyDeleteHow can you re-elect two men to one seat?
Pretty impressive strategy on Al's part, I would say. I mean, until someone produces a law or ordinance to prove its illegal, then its a non issue and hysterical at the same time. Both men are being microscoped and well they should be. Yes, Al was not the most motivated representatives and Boris seems to have forgotten the definition of distinquished gentleman. But at the same time, one of them has to run the affairs of District 146, so we have to choose one. The question is what are WE going to hold them to? Are we going to send Al back with a better understanding of our expectations or are we going to give Boris another shot at the brass ring and expect results that are clear and distinct for the residents of the area.
ReplyDeleteIts not up to them, its up to us.
So how did the rally go? Anybody know???
ReplyDeleteAl Edwards needs to sit down. Borris Miles is the new man on the block that actually does something for the block. He is a desperate man and it is obvious that he merely wants a job instead of wanting to improve District 146. Borris has his personal flaws b ut he is also a strong and consistent voice for his community. I expect Borris to speak up about what he has done and what he will continue to do and then it will not matter how many misleading signs Al puts up.
ReplyDeleteIt also looks like he's trying to take credit for something done on someone else's watch. He's a true lazy, sorry, polititian. Also, how are you going to be embarrassed about another man's actions...
