THE SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY HOUSTON ALUMNI CHAPTER MARDI GRAS MASQUERADE BALL!

SOUTHERNITES CELEBRATE IN HOUSTON!

I've never met a fellow Southernite who didn't know how to party. That statement holds true today. The Insite attended and served as Grand Marshall at the 2008 Southern University Houston Alumni Chapter Mardi Gras Ball Saturday night. It was held at the Houston Grand Plaza Hotel. Over 300 people attended the event that was designed to raise money for scholarships. It was a great sucess. The surprise guest of the evening was Southern University System President Ralph Slaughter who also dropped off a $10,000 check for the fundraising effort. Insite reader Carl Daniel served as the Master of Ceremony. Also attending the event were: Millette Clayton Scott, Willie Howard, Karen Howard, Dennis S. Brown, Kevin Taylor Jarell, Tracey Taylor Jarrell, LaRence Snowden, Denise Armstrong, Shawn Armstrong, Pastor Byron Stevenson, Tiffany Bynum, and entertainment was provided by Keith Bynam. It was a great event, if you missed it make sure you place it on your calendar for 2009!
