I'M LOOKING PRETTY SAD BECAUSE THEY THINK I GOT IT WRONG!
It was a few days ago when I posted a blog about seeing Kelly Siegler political flyers in the Harris County District Attorney's office. Some say I had it all wrong. I thought it was only fair to give their explanation as to what they claim I saw on the front page post. So here it is. At least they didn't call me a 'communist pinko yellow bellied liberal' as someone previously did. Just a footnote. So you guys know, I believe in the old saying 'sticks and stones'. After being attacked by over 200 Hilary Duff fans through email and hundreds more at my job - I think I can take a few below the belt hits in Houston. I won't hold it against you. I appreciate you all taking the time to read the blog. It is truly a honor to be a part of some people's daily reading. But back to the post and subject at hand. Here is the anonymous reader's comment:
Since you clearly do not care about the truth, I will tell you the truth. Someone, NOT an ADA, gave those fliers to an ADA and had them dropped off without being inside an envelope or folder. They were given to that ADA for him to use on his own private time. They were never distributed during work hours nor at the courthouse. Isiah, you really should be ashamed of yourself for posting such biased things. Did you feel proud when you snuck a shot with your camera phone and posted this blog, without bothering to ask the ADA for the truth. Really? Does this make you a respectable reporter?
Isiah keep your head up. You know the republicans will do anything to tear you down. I know you're republican also but look what they did to Chuck Rosenthal. Maybe you and Chuck should start an outcast Republican group to keep each other going.
ReplyDeleteEverybody at the DA's office seems to have a GOOD excuse for all of this garbage surrounding this election. Rosenthal has been forced to withdaw because of his deeds. Now Kelly Seigler has been found to have more baggage than the American Tourister factory. Why does the assistant prosecutors keep jumping on the "save someone from within" wagon?" Are they that afraid of the truth?
ReplyDeleteI think they are afraid of having an idiot savant with absolutely no experience other then what someone else looking to fill certain quotas gave to him, as a boss. But, I could be wrong. I work for an idiot, but at least he has SOME kind of experience. Hey, I read a law book the other day. Is it to late to put MY name in for DA? I can not believe the short term memory of the public when it comes to possibly being able to get a black man into a position of power. Bradford was ABSOLUTELY responsible for the wreck that is HPD crime lab, as well as an assortment of other things because of his lack of oversite and his lack of leadership, however, the media has chosen to give him a free ride. interesting.
ReplyDeleteThey can say whatever they want but, those materials did not belong in that office under any circumstances. Campaigning on public property is wrong. They can try and skate the edge of the envelope if they want, but convenience for drop-offs is not appropriate either.
ReplyDeleteThe individual who did not put the items, tacitly endorsed the candidate nonverbally. Ethics -- Ethics--Ethics.
Insite, if you had asked to take the picture, then they would have hidden. You garnered your proof to whether the soon to come excuse, denial, or outright lie about the materials even being there. Remember the emails.
I can't wait to see if they don't start limiting you to the corridor in the future if Ms. Seigler gets elected.
Give them Hell Isiah!
ReplyDeleteBlogmistress,
ReplyDeleteNo disrespect, but you are over-reaching. Most candidates for Judge or other legal posts send out mass mailings to all licensed attorneys at their addresses on the State Bar web site. As a result, you can probably find dozens of pieces of campaign literature sitting in any prosecutor's office that they received through the U.S. mail. There's nothing illegal or improper about it. There's also nothing improper about having that campaign literature in your office.
It would have been improper if a D.A. were handing them out in an effort to campaign while on county property. That wasn't the case here.
What WAS the case was that Mr. Carey came to interview that prosecutor, and saw the fliers. Rather than be honest and ask the prosecutor about them, he snapped a photograph with his camera phone and then ambushed him with it on the news.
I don't think that you will have to wait for a possible Siegler administration before you find prosecutors unwilling to do an interview with Mr. Carey anywhere near their offices.
And I have to say, Mr. Carey, I've been really surprised at some of the things that you've been doing lately. Its almost like you are auditioning for TMZ.com.

ReplyDelete=====================
I think it looks bad especially after the DA was accused of campaigning in the office. So a politically unaware ADA decided to accept receipt of the flyers on government property to be used later privately. I don't believe it.
If Isiah is so shady then why did he post the comments from the HCDA insider?
I have now read all of these bloggers about this subject. Great comedy! Rosenthal has admitted his wrong doings that have already been exposed. We all know there is more, thus the stall tactics by him. The funny part is all the ADA's who so vehemently defend Rosenthal and Siegler. They then denounce the Dem. Bradford. For everyones info, there are three other Republican candidates. A retired rankinf ADA, a colice Capt(w/law degree) and a retired Judge.
ReplyDeleteLet's do the right thing. We know we're rid of Rothenthal. Don't make the same mistake by keeping Siegler. Change the status quo and elect ANYBODY else. If those ADA's are so afraid of the truth coming out then they don't belong in OUR DA's office in the first place.
