WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO SOMEONE WHO DESTROYS A POLITICAL SIGN? 
The Insite has no idea who's responsible but Precinct 7 Constable May Walker has found herself victimized. I'm told 25 of her political signs around the district encompassing the 3rd Ward have been torn down, slashed or totally destroyed. Walker's campaign folk say it's becoming expensive to deal with the issue. Each sign reportedly cost $25 each and after the destruction of more than two dozen of them - it becomes pretty expensive. I've always seen sign destruction as a childish way to deal with politics. But that's just me. What do you think should be done to people who tear down political signs in a heated election. The Insite would love to hear your opinion on this issue. Just click the comment section below and have at it!
I think nearly anyone that has run for office in Harris County has had their signs removed or damaged. Why is she the only victim?

I think the culprit should pay double the cost of getting the sign back up and I think they should be required to personally erect it within a deadline determined by a judge.
ReplyDeleteFrankly, I don't think those big signs should be allowed. They tend to end up in abandoned lots, on fences and in other places without permission. Yard signs are fine, but those big posters just seem out of line.
ReplyDeleteThe only victims have been the residents of precinct 7. Precinct 7 is an embarrasment (I won't list the financial or legal issues because the media has documented them already). We have not seen or heard from Mae Walker since the last campaign cycle. The problem is leadership. I don't know anything about these other candidates running, but I better start. Isaiah I dare you to go to Palm Center and ask folks to identify one time that the Constable's Office did something positive for the community or when was the last time they actually saw Mae Walker.

ReplyDeleteThere has not been any financial problems at this precinct, as a matter of fact, this precinct always falls in line with budget.
As far as legal problems, the only one I ever heard of was the mix-up with the officers certification, the officer was charged but the charges were dismissed.
I had the opportunity to study some of the work that this precinct does.
They got high water rescue vehicles to rescue citizens in precnct #7 trapped on the highways and in their homes. I guess if you were part of this community, you would know that every year the precinct conduct evacuation exercises in the communties, you would as know that the precinct has its first victim's assistance program to assist persons of precinct #7 who are victims of crimes.
If you were a part of this community and not a hater, you would know that precinct #7 has a gang resistance education that work in all the middle schools in the precinct to keep those kids off drugs and out gangs.
If you were part of this precinct you would know that the precinct has an environmental deputy that tow abandone vehicles off the roads, that been park of the street for years.
If you were part of this precinct you would know the precinct recieved $200,000 dollars to address traffic issues within the precinct.
If you were part of the precinct you would know about the truancy programs the precinct has.
If you were part of the precinct you would know the many other good things they do, health fairs for senior citizens, young kids and the many more programs they offer with limited manpower.
If you were part of this precinct and not a hater, you would know these things and not try to down the good things that May has done for this precinct compare to what other precincts do for there's.

PS: Maybe Isiah should come over to precinct #7 and highlight all the good things they have done for the community since that thief Perry Wooten left and that Uncle Tom Liar Micheal Butler was out there.....

SOLUTION: Commissioner Lee should combine Pct. 7 with Pct. 1 and put a Real Professional County Police Officer in charge (not a HPD has-been like May Walker)

ReplyDeleteI worked in Ms.May Walker last election and she had no reason to tear down signs or have anyone associated with her tear down signs.
Quiting lying on this woman. This woman has done alot of things as a HPD officers and now as Constable.
It's people like you that try to be a detriment to good people like Ms.Walker because of who ever you support.
This is a Black woman who has done so much for Black law enforcement officers throughout her years as a cop and now as Constable and you need to be shame on yourself for what you say and the lies that you talk about.
I've been at her office and she has a wonderful staff of people who too, are concern about the precinct.

Just for the record, I am the original anonymous post that said Precinct 7 is an embarrasment. I am not in law enforcement. I am just a home-owner. I also did not write the posting that set the record straight. I think reasonable people can disagree about May Walker, but its funny that no one disputed the facts set forth by the other posting.
ReplyDeleteDid Walker had permission to post these signs on private property. I personally removed several signs from my property as I was really offended that a certain politician didnt not even have the audicity to ask for permission to post them.

I personally know Ms. Walker and how has she embarassed this precinct?
People as yourself should talk about facts, than open your month up about lies.
Name me two embarrassing moments this precinct has had under Ms. Walker.
(No thefts, No Mis-Management, No lawsuits) as the past elected and appointed Constables.
Furthermore, why should we address what the other ass-hole is talking about?, When who ever this Butler guy was, ain't done shit out here, the only thing he did was turned out to be was a liar and a defeated sit-in.

1. Precinct seven did not have any highwater rescue vehicles until May Walker took office.

3.There was no victim assistance program under the appointed Constable Butler, now there are 3paid positions which Constable May Walker recieved a grant from the state of Texas.
4.Enviromental unit was put in place at precinct #7 by May Walker. I think a guy name Deputy Henderson is assigned to that division and shares duel duties.
5. Traffic and Patrol was not initiate under May Walker but under Constable Chambers. Beat intergrity for patrol was initiate under Constable Walker to insure that all precinct #7 recieve patrol services from the few deputies she has.
6. El Franco Lee was the first to hold health fairs for persons who live in precinct #7. May Walker never claimed she did that, she just continued to hold health fairs in the precinct that not only address health issues but community issues as well.
7. There are several senior citizen programs by the constable office in precinct which include home inspections, fire and smoke devices, calls to check on senior citizens daily.
8. Constable Chambers has always given bikes and turkeys away. Constable Walker just kept up the tradition of this service.
May Walker formed response team for problems in the communtiy.
May Walker has a command trailer to respond to stuff in the community.I am a friend of Ms. Walker and I talk to people connected to her office. I worked as a reserve deputy for Chambers and I see the difference and the advances this office has made....
Hey Everyone! I am a hispanic Male and I am so hurt to see and read with beautiful black people who have suffered for years and still do tear each one down like this. I know about the struggle and I believe in it. Black people have paid a high price for all people to have rights.I belive it the white man had his way today I would be a slave along side all of my wonderful black friends. I love and admire Dr.King and the Great beautiful Coretta King. I reall mean this. I love it with black people prosper. i just wish my people knew how to do this. but they dont understand the struggle and the constant fight. What do these constables do anyway? What a waste of taxpayer money all of these police agencies are. The criminal justice industry is alive and well at the expense of the rest of us. How many police agencies do we need in Harris County? Every elected and appointed official has their own little private army.
ReplyDeleteConsolidate all of these into a single police force. At minimum we will save the administrative expenses associated with police chief offices, separate trai8ning, different uniforms, different procurement channels, and on and on.
We do not live in some podunk town "three days of horse riding" away from the nearest sheriff anymore. The need for constables, HPD, HC Sheriff Dept, METRO, ISD's, university police, port police, donut police, etc as separate entities is long past; especially when they patrol the same areas and their jurisdictions overlap.
In any event police professionals should be concerned with fighting and preventing crime not running for office. The whole concept of having to elect every clerk, constable, sheriff, judge, jp, dog catcher? around here is rather retarded.
As for being an embarrasment I can offer only this. Her grammar is poor. Her subjects and verbs don't always agree but she has a delightful personality.

Constable May Waker has done a superb job at Precinct 7.I don't beleive MAY has a lot of patrol deputies in the precinct but I do know that when I do go to my civic club meeting I always see her Deputy J. DAVIS.

isiah, i have not commented on this blog before, but I am amazed that you have not commented once on the language used on your site towards others. you should really edit explatives or remove posts that use them. Aside from how foolish it makes the writer, using an expletive towards other bloggers (i) discourages genuine dialogue and (ii) downgrades the quality of the Insite. ReplyDeleteWhen may Walker first ran for constable in the runoff against M.Butler, it was known by some that some in her current administration(ranking) were destroying signs. Now, PCT.7 did not have the problems under Michael Butler and any one with good sense would know that, there are communities in PCT.7 that she flat out lied to and as far as intergrity how come HPD would not release her record four years ago,was it that they did not want the public to know she at one time dated known drug dealer and pimp Johnny Binder(Rev. Jeremiah) as he is referred to now and how he locked her in a club he owned and HPD had to kick the door down to get her out, or maybe it's the people that like Smokey phillips, you kknow the one that almost went to the Federal Pen for the rest of his life. What about the people she evicted out of her rent house and set there kids Asthma machines outside in the rain, yea what a great women. Her Chief Deputy, former boyfriend or current, was not even a full time peace officer for 10 years before he got that job. This is your Constable whoever this applies to. And for the record, I am a long term law Enforcement Professional and nothing she has done in my career has helped me at all. This is Also the woman that could not even pass the Sergeants exam at HPD, and ya'll went and elected her to office.

May Walker has never date Johnny Binder and she has never been caught in no drug house or club, it you know anything, that was Clara Phillips who was caught inside a club working undercover, when somebody recognized her, know your facts sir...
Secondly, Anderson was an executive and a law enforcement reserve captain in the Harris County Sheriff's Department for many years, until he decided to go fulltime as an investigator for Metro Police.
Smokey Phillips went to a trial were he was wrongly and falsely accused of a drug crime in which the Judge threw the case out but before than he was a patrol and worked as a hot spot deputy.
So the people you are talking about are good people and most likely better than you, Mr. Long term law enforcement officer.
May Walker will win as long as she likes and later we will vote Smokey in it he decides to run and then you will get a chance to voice your opinion and not remind anonymous.

If you are a real professional law man you would know that officers do not share derogatory comments about other law persons on public databases, you must be a constable deputy or been fired from an agency before?

It is silly that you spend the time to attack me when my focus was on the facts however I can see you actually must work for the woman given your attitude. ReplyDeleteI remember May Walker when she was still with the HPD, assigned to DARE. A driend of mine, who was Black, was training with her. I wanted to ask her a question, so I started to walk over to her. She looked out the corner of her eye and, seeing me walking towards her, she walked away. This went on for several minutes. I finally tired of this and walked back to my friend and told him of the cat and mouse game she was obviously playing with me. His response was, "Oh, I guess I should have told you that May Walker HATES white people and will not talk to them unless she has to. It was then I learned what a racist she really was. And later I learned what an ignorant racist she was when she was at city hall. Oh, that's right, there is no such thing as a black racist, right! Who cares about her signs. She obvioulsy only wanted to make it appear that it was a racist act so people would say, oh, poor, May, vitimized by the white man to hold her down. Give me a break!! Every election year all one has to do is drive around and look at all the signs torn down and lying on the ground.

ReplyDeleteWOW, I stumbled onto this sight by accident while looking back at fond memories of living in Houston and checking out all of the websites, tv station websites, etc..... as a former resident of the City Of Houston I am glad I moved because to judge by these post here it is embarassing. The poor grammer, the misspelled words, the curse words,the false accusations and some correct accusations and oh yes the politics as usual. Personally I am surprised KRIV would let one of their reporters keep such a fouled mouth website...but then again, This is Houston, Sin City and Racial turmoil spot of the South.

The People of all races would be better served by combining all forces. This would save tremendously on Tax revenue which could be better spent on education, health and other services. The only problem would be that all of the Law Enfrocement agencies would lose their little feifdoms and their claim to fame and power.
