THE DISCONNECTION NOTICE HAS BEEN SENT TO THE HOSPITAL!

SHOULD THE CITY OF LIBERTY CUT OFF THE POWER IF THE HOSPITAL DIDN'T PAY?

It's shocking at best to some in the small city of Liberty. The people there have learned the hospital they rely on has received a disconnect notice from the city. If the $259,000 electric and water bill isn't paid at Liberty-Dayton hospital by next Tuesday at 5:30 pm city officials say the utilities will be cut off. The hospital that potentially serves 32,000 people in the area hasn't paid a bill since October 2007. Liberty city manager Ron Wood says while he realizes the hospital is important to the community, business is business and the bill must be paid. A hospital administrator says the owners of the facility will be in town today (Tuesday) to address the overdue bill. That administrator says only then will he and the employees know what the future holds for them at the hospital. In the meantime, if the power is shut off dozens of patients housed at the facility will have to be moved. Residents of the area will likely have to travel to Houston or Beaumont for their medical needs!

  2. Isn't there an administrator who is supposed to keep on top of that? I guess someone is out of a job. Kinda sucks, I was born in that hospital many, many moons ago.
