THE DETAILS TO GO SAY GOOD BYE TO A STATE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER!Funeral arrangements have been announced for Trooper James Scott Burns, 39, who was fatally shot on Tuesday, April 29.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church, 105 E. Graham Street, in Linden.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, 105 E. Graham Street, in Linden. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery, located on County Road 1640, nine miles south of Linden off of U.S. 59.
Services are being coordinated by Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home, 202 N. Main St. in Linden (903-756-5455).

Trooper James Burns was shot and killed following a high speed pursuit in Marion County, Texas, at approximately 8:00 pm.
A citizen used the trooper's radio to inform dispatchers that the trooper had been shot near the intersection of Farm-to-Market roads 1969 and 729. The suspect remains at large.
Trooper Burns had served with the Texas Department of Public Safety for 5 years. He is survived by his wife and 6-month-old daughter.
