HIGH FUEL PRICES BLAMED FOR THE SNACK PRICE SPIKE AT FOX 26!

I'M STARTING YET ANOTHER BOYCOTT / PETITION - THIS TIME OVER SNACK MACHINE PRICES!

If I have to see one more price increase because of high fuel costs there's going to be smoke in the kitchen. I was headed to the snack machine to get my usual pack of peanuts at FOX 26 when I noticed all the snack prices have increased. It was a sharp increase of 5 to 10 cents on each snack. There was a nice little note from the independent vendor explaining this shameless increase in Cokes. I think I'm going to start a boycott and petition in the newsroom. From now on only apples and oranges from Fiesta where the prices seem steady!

  2. Isiah, I will tell you this, whre I work a snicker in the vending machine was $1.00 Chewing gum .75

and worst of all a bear claw was 1.50

and worst of worst is that the boss owned the machines and the snacks in the vending machines for the patrons were CHEAPER

Everything is going up Isiah. We all are feeling the pinch. The dollar has limited value these days. Pack your lunch like I do and drink lots of free water at work.

i would respond to this, but due to the rising cost of fuel it would be impossible for me to leave a comment without charging you "fitty" cents to cover MY OWN rising fuel costs.

  5. I own a vendsing machine co in Houston. Maybe I can help you to understand. We put diesel gas in our trucks that are on the road all day. We ate the price increase by strait lose of profit. As prices kept going up I just ate it. Then where we purchase our drinks and snacks, the prices have been increasing every year for several years. We have not increased our prices. Then we were hit with huge increases just last month. We were told by our suppliers it was high gas costs. I had to make a decision to raise my prices for the first time in 12 years or close down the company. For example a candy bar a year year ago cost me about .33. Now I pay almost $.50, (that is cost before my expenses for a candy bar). I understand your suggestion for a boycot but most of us are family business and we are doing all we can to hang on right now. We want to be able to continue to this convience for people in Houston but you are going to have to work with us. If enough people "Boycot" it will not force us to lower our prices but to just close our doors.

    I hope this helps.
