HAVE A HURRICANE MEAL ON THE INSITE!

I was curious when I saw several boxes of heated meals being thrown out at FOX 26. The small containers are food kits that expired back on May 8th. The meals actually warm up without any source of heat. They were being stored for the 2007 hurricane season. If a news crew is sent out to an area hit by a hurricane there won't likely be any open stores or restaurants. So the station purchased dozens of these small heater meals for the news crews. Just open the pack and somehow they are warm when you eat them. If you interested in eating the expired food kits let the Insite know!
yall must have had those a long time:
ReplyDeletefrom heater meals website: "We utilize home-style canning technology to ensure quality food
and up to a 2 year shelf-life for HeaterMeals Dinner Entrees."

ReplyDeleteThere is a heating packet inside..All you have to do is add water to pouch and watch it warm up..Trust me when there is no Landry's, Carrabba's, Snow Flakes around, that shytt taste just as better with a little hot sauce and imagination...
After performing Army Reserve training on day, I gave one to the girls and told them it was diner..Fatts told me that's for Army people and McDonalds is for kids...So nedless to say in the trash can it went..

Isiah,
ReplyDeleteI really hate the idea of those meals being wasted. In the future, I suggest that your purchasing manager keep track of the expiration date and donate the meals to a food and or homeless shelter 3 months before they expire.
this could have been donated to the homeless!
