A VERY BAD BUT SMART KINDERGARTNER!

THIS KIND OF REPORT WOULD'VE GOTTEN THE INSITE AN OLD FASHIONED BEATING BACK IN THE DAY - THAT'S BEFORE CHILD ABUSE WAS DISCOVERED!

You know I'm always looking for little anecdotes for the Insite. When I was outside of the municipal courthouse on Thursday afternoon I found one. There was this Spiderman folder left on the ground near the gate. It was just across from the courthouse. I figured there had to be a story behind it. I opened it up and immediately realized it was likely intentionally left behind by a kindergartner named Christopher. According to a progress report and letter home to his parents he is very bad. I'm sure he left the folder behind so his parents couldn't see what his teacher had to say about his behavior. The note was filled with X's. According to the report Christopher: Talks while the teacher is talking, fails to follow directions, loud in the hallway, runs in the classroom, disrespectful, would not sit in time out and the list goes on and on. Little Christopher is buck wild. If you took a progress report home like that back in the day what would've happened to you? The Insite would love to hear your opinions!

Kids only behave this way if their parents allow them to. Of course every child acts up now and then, but children who are always wild at school have no discipline at home. Kids like this one are why I don't teach anymore. When the parents were called in, they would usually get mad at me instead of their child. And more often than not, it was a single mom who was worn out with trying to support her chidren with no help from their father(s).

My two children are young, but they know better than to behave that way at school, church, or anywhere else. My husband and I teach them right from wrong, and we expect them to treat other people with respect.

Sadly, I see children acting like this in Sunday School too, and again, it is because their parents do not discipline them at all! People think that their children should be allowed to do whatever they want, then they are surprised when those same kids grow up to be thugs or worse!

    Isiah,

I am 38 and I am fearful just thinking about not doing what I was told to do. My parents did not play when it came to attending school or work for that matter.

I now appreciate what they did for me because it was for my ultimate benefit. I am successful because of them. I have choices because of them.

Sadly, a lot of these kids won't have a future because of their parent's failure to do what must be done now.
