140 PEOPLE ARRESTED AT NIGHTCLUB IN A VERY STRANGE NIGHT!Houston narcotics, vice and patrol officers arrest more than 100 people at a downtown after-hours night club after an undercover officer is sold alcoholic beverages and narcotics after 2 a.m. Saturday, but that was only the beginning of the bizarre events that took place on the far edge of downtown.
More than 140 people were arrested at the Pink Monkey night club, located at the intersection of Franklin and Milam, for violations including public intoxication, delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. More than 500 others were released from the club and not charged with any offenses.
The club was also issued more than 20 citations for code and fire violations by the Neighborhood Protection Corps and Houston Fire Department inspectors.
As the investigation was ending at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, a suspect who was driving a stolen private ambulance van crashed the vehicle into the back of a car and then into a Houston police car that was blocking the street during the club raid. The stolen ambulance van had also crashed into a trailer and a Houston Fire Department ambulance unit.
The driver of the stolen ambulance van had to be removed from the vehicle and taken to Ben Taub General Hospital with minor injuries. No one was inside any of the other vehicles involved in the crashes.
Investigators learned that the private ambulance van was stolen from the 2500 block of Post Oak Boulevard.
