The Insite has learned deputies from various agencies around Harris County will be picketing the Harris County Commissioner's court Tuesday morning. The Insite is told by Smokey Philips they're tired of not getting parity pay when it comes to their counterpart HPD. So deputies from Harris county and various constable's offices will be demanding an increase in pay and better benefits from the county. Philips says last year deputies only took home a 5% raise. 3% was for cost of living and he says the remaining 2% was to just shut them up. He says while directors and commissioners in the county picket a 24% raise last year. The picket will be in front of the Harris County administration building in downtown Houston on Preston.
