THE FIGHT IN LINDALE PARK!
A major battle is underway in Houston's Lindale park area. On one side some of the residents of the area - just down the block on the defensive is Rene Tijerina and his new Fruits Cafe and Billiards on Fulton. The residents of the community like Kevin Hoffman say the cafe' will only bring crime to the area. He says it will also be a bad influence for the children who live in the Lindale park area. The cafe' was just approved to operate by the county but Hoffman and members of the civic club say they will fight the approval with an appeal. However, Tijerina says his cafe' is for families in the area. He says not only will he mentor young children in the area with his eatery and drink spot but he will find them jobs. He says despite some of the neighbors disapproval he will prove them wrong and show them he will be a good neighbor in Lindale. His grand opening is set for this Saturday.
