I was in the East End area Wednesday afternoon when I noticed something. How many times have you all heard that. Anyway, I noticed a fire hydrant with water spilling out. It appears to have been that way for quite some time because the ground around the hydrant was saturated. The valve on it may be stripped. But it was pouring like a faucet. The first thing that came to mind was someone is going to be in trouble for running up the Mayor's water bill. It's like your Grandmother used to tell you when you came to her house over the summer, "boy, don't hold my door open too long, you're running up my light bill." The hydrant could be losing gallons of water each day. I'm not sure if it is intentional. But in all seriousness someone needs to go to 79th and Sherman in east Houston and replace the hydrant!
Isiah, Let me tell you what public works are going to tell you.
ReplyDelete"well in the scheme of things the water loss from the hydrant is minute in compared to the millions of gallons houstonians use each day. "We have a crew already working on it at the moment but were waiting for another bid.
You can count on this explanation when you get the cameras in their face.
