CHANGES MADE AT THE HOUSTON FIRE DEPARTMENT!

ACTING CHIEF RICK FLANAGAN MAKES SOME DECISIONS!

The Insite has learned there are some changes underway at the Houston Fire Department. Acting Fire Chief Rick Flanagan has put several people in places after he moved up in rank. Here's the information fron new HFD spokesperson Patrick Trahan:

Chief Flanagan has made no new formal appointments or promotions related to command staff. As is the case when a commander of higher rank is out of office temporarily, someone on the next order of rank will be assigned to act in the capacity of the commanding officer when she or he is away. That is the case here. Since Chief Flanagan, the Executive Assistant Chief for Logistics Command has been named Interim Chief of the Department and now executes those related duties, he has assigned the next ranking chief in the division, Chief Jack Williams, as Acting Executive Assistant Chief over Logistics Command. Chiefs Rodney West and Fernando Herrera will keep their current responsibilities and in addition alternate as Acting Assistant Chiefs performing the duties that are currently those of Assistant Chief Williams.

Again, these are not formal promotions or appointments but newly assigned duties.

Thank You,

Patrick Trahan
