THANKS! Thanks for supporting me for the position of National Board Member of the NAACP.
On Saturday, February 20, 2010, in the City of New York, I was sworn in as a National Board Member at Large for the NAACP. I was the only non-encumbered member elected as a Board Member at Large.
This was a National election in which all 1801 local branches participated. The committee assignments have not been made, but I listed Education, Economic Development, and Political Action/Legislative on my preference list.
With this election, I have made the full circle of leadership in the NAACP:
President Emeritus – Houston
Chair, Political Action Committee – Texas
Board Member – National
