I agree this is a mess. The original featured a lineup of voices that encompassed all of the popular voices of the time, and then some. This one does the same. The difference ... the first version of "We Are The World" succeeded in bringing all the different types of music represented together in one voice for one cause. The current version is nothing more than a who's who of the flavor of the moment, plus a few oldies wanting to get their faces back out in front of a mass audience. There's no feeling of purpose.
