EXCLUSIVE: HISD TAKS TESTING INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY!

WAS IT A MISTAKE OR SOMETHING INTENTIONALLY DONE?

Fox 26 News and the Insite have learned there is an internal investigation underway in the Houston Independent School District over allegations of students getting parts of the TAKS test in advance of tomorrow's testing. Credible sources tell FOX - officials with the district and the Texas Education Agency are looking into allegations that a consulting firm 'may have' provided parts of the actual written portion of the TAKS test to students as part of a tutoring effort. We're told that firm serves a tutorial source for students to take the state mandated test. Our sources say typically teachers use old or sample TAKS tests to prepare their students. But we're told this part of the test in question is believed to be the actual exercise students are scheduled to take this week. We're also told this could effect at least 50 or more schools in the district. Gayle Fallon with the Houston Teacher's Union confirms the probe and says one of her members, an instructor, has already resigned to avoid any association with the potential scandal. Norm Uhl with HISD says there is an investigation and the test originally scheduled for mainly fourth grades students has already been pulled and replaced. We will keep you updated!
