The Insite has learned Houston personality and talk show host Deborah Duncan is signing on to act as an advisory chair for the Houston Association of Black Journalists' fundraiser next year. This comes as the organization turns 25 years old. Duncan tells the Insite she's very excited to work with the organization in her appointed capacity. The annual celebration is designed to raise money for college students in Houston and surrounding areas. Plans are still underway to decide exactly what type of celebration will be held in February 2011. In the past, the annual event culminated with a gala for those who support the organization. Houston Chronicle Fashion reporter Joy Sewing is also serving as a co-chair on the event and sources say FOX 26 anchor Jose Grinan is strongly considering serving as a chair as well for the event. In the past there have been several Houston broadcasting heavyweights to serve as co-chairs for the annual event. On that list: Melanie Lawson, Jerome Gray, and Argentina James. The Insite will bring you more details as it happens. Remember to support the organization that supports the students!
