There's a couple of coats of new paint but can Sharpstown Mall really be turned around. The historical mall has been on the decline for the last decade. What's really noticeable is the absence of any anchor stores. There are no Dillard's, Macy's, or even JC Penny. So what will bring the people back? The owners could possibly think the new name. It's now being called Plaza Americas. The main focus of the business seems to be the young urban crowd. There are several jewelry stores and sneakers shops. Everything you'll need for that Jay Z concert. But what about parents looking for school clothes or that businessman looking for that suit? Apparently, Sharpstown oh sorry, I meant Plaza Americas has a lot of work to do to pull in the crowds.
The land is much more valuable than the building, maybe build a housing project
