THEY'VE DUBBED HIM THE XXXL BANK ROBBER!

CAN YOU SEE WHY HE GOT THAT NAME?

The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force needs your help in identifying a man now suspected of robbing at least two Houston area banks. The latest occurred at the Associated Federal Credit Union located at 16400 El Camino Real in Houston, Texas, on 08/05/2010. The male robber was nicknamed because of his unique large stature, which is depicted in the bank’s surveillance photos.

At approximately 1:10 p.m., the man entered the bank and struck up a conversation with one of the tellers. He then handed the teller a threatening note which demanded money. The teller provided the man with some cash. He fled the bank and left the Kroger store through an emergency exit in the rear of the store. No getaway vehicle was observed. No weapon was observed during the robbery. No one was physically hurt.

The “XXXL Bandit” is described as a white male, late 28-35, approximately 5’10”-6’ tall, 245-270 pounds, with a black beard and mustache with some gray hair. He was overweight with an unkempt appearance. He wore a dark baseball-type cap, blue tee-shirt, jeans, and sunglasses.

The “XXXL Bandit” is also suspected in the robbery of the Wells Fargo located inside the Randall’s store at 2323 Clear Lake City Boulevard in Houston, Texas, on 07/12/2010. Photographs from Randall’s security cameras, which have never been released, are below.

Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and arrest of this robber, or any felony suspect. If you have information about this crime, please call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
