Ester L. King who transitioned to the realm of the Holy Egun (Ancestors) on Thursday, September 1, 2011 will be memorialized this weekend. Mr. King is widely viewed as an icon in the social justice arena. He was a participant, leader and eyewitness to much of Houston's Black Power, Civil Rights and Human Rights struggles for over forty years.
