Some in the press are wondering what's in Dr. Michael 'the hand doctor' Brown's divorce papers that's so special it's virtually impossible to see without a hired gun.
That question comes after Harris County District Judge Sheri Y. Dean decided to seal the case between the famous physician and his soon to be ex wife Rachel Brown.
A clerk for Judge Dean in the 309th said the judge doesn't need to have a reason to keep a file that's typically open to the public closed.
But it's not impossible to view the file but the Judge will make you jump through some hoops.
First, one would have to hire an attorney and then file a motion. Then Judge Dean decides after a hearing if you can see the paperwork for this parricular divorce.
How fair is that to the average citizen?
Do you think it's special treatment?
Regular folk divorces are open to the public all the time except in cases of extenuating circumstances like child abuse.
The Insite would love to get a response from the Judge on this matter.
Update: Now, all of sudden after waiting to get video of the Judge on the bench her staffers say she consulted with her legal staff and we can see the file next week. But what happens to a regular citizen who doesn't have a FOX 26 camera camped outside of her court?
