IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR FOR NAACP FREEDOM FUND BANQUET: DO YOU HAVE YOUR TICKETS?

Press Release: NAACP HOUSTON BRANCH FREEDOM FUND GALA
Affirming the Promise for Justice and Equality

Dear All,

The NAACP Houston Branch Annual Freedom Fund Gala will be held Friday, October 28, 2011, at the Hilton Americas Hotel. The Annual Freedom Fund Gala is the Houston Branch’s signature event of the year where they recognize and celebrate sponsors and individuals that champion causes to better our community.

This year’s theme, Affirming the Promise for Justice and Equality, epitomizes the mission of the NAACP who for over 102 years has fought to secure promises inherent in the Constitution. The promise of equal voting rights, equal access to a living wage jobs and equality in the court systems continues to be the truths held self-evident for the NAACP and is the motivation for its unwavering determination in addressing racial disparities in our society.

I serve on the Executive Committee of the Houston Branch and I would very much appreciate your participation in our Annual Freedom Fun Gala.

I am attaching an Advocacy Agenda Package that explains the various levels and benefits of sponsorship.

Please make your check payable to the NAACP Houston Branch and send to: Attn.: Yolanda Smith, Executive Director, 2002 Wheeler Avenue, Houston, Texas 77004 (713-526-3389, ext. 12 or 713-545-9696 or Yolanda@naacphouston.org.

Thank you for your support of the NAACP.

In solidarity,

Richard C. Shaw, Secretary-Treasurer Harris County AFL-CIO Council Chair, NAACP Houston Branch, Labor and Industry Committee Executive Committee Member, NAACP Houston Branch

  1. I will not support this organization anymore. The corruption, the mismanagment of funds, and the total lack of disrespect that was accorded its latest President has shown me that the NAACP is all about the show and not about the people.
