THREE MEMBER PANEL ISSUES DECISION ON COUNCIL MEMBER JOLANDA JONES!

The final report on Council Member Jolanda Jones is now public after an investigation by a group of elected officials at Houston's City Hall!

It details how Jones used her city telephone, staffers, and resources to benefit her private law practice.

That panel that included Mayor Annise Parker, Councilman C.O. Bradford and Council Member Sue Lovell  all agreed this was a matter that was serious but should not be taken to the full city council for disciplinary action.

As you already know the Harris County District Attorney's office also refused to investigate Jones on these charges.

But the three member panel did meet with Jones to ask her to write a statement acknowledging her actions.

She has also agreed to change her 'Know Your Rights With Police' card to remove the city council office number on it.

Jones will conduct additional ethics training for her and her staff, take steps to ensure separation of her private business from her council office.

She must also have a record showing any of her staff who drives her to court is not on city time.

No comment from Jones just yet!
