THE HOUSTON POLICE OFFICERS' UNION IS ON COUNCIL MEMBER JOLANDA JONES AGAIN!

Jolanda Jones

Ray Hunt HPOU VP
Is this complaint #2, #3, or #4?  It's hard to keep count anymore.

But The Insite has learned the Houston Police Officers' Union has filed more complaints against Houston City Council Member Jolanda Jones.

This time two have been filed...One with the Harris County District Attorney and another with Texas State Bar.

Officials of the union say Jones practiced law while her licensed was suspended by the state bar back in September.

Jones immediately paid her fees when she learned her licensed had lapsed.

This is the latest shot fired at the city council member by the union.

Ray Hunt with HPOU says this all began when Jones distributed a information card to the public telling them not to talk with police officers during the height of the Chad Holley beating case!

Statement from Jolanda Jones: We hope that the constant, repetitive, baseless complaints made by Ray Hunt are not deliberate acts of retaliation and intimidation against a Houston city council member. Mr. Hunt’s complaints have been proven to be without merit.

Council Member Jones is concerned about public safety issues and supports and respects the Houston Police Department. We ask Mr. Hunt to join her in focusing on important issues that would make better use of police union resources including police brutality, the crime lab and justice for thousands of rape victims.
