WHERE'S OUR FAIR RIDE?????????
The employees of a local transport service converge on the steps of Houston's city hall to demonstrate against the city. The owners and employees of Texans Shuttle Service say they are being squeezed out of the Houston airport system. They complain that the Yellow Cab Taxi service is getting an exclusive Shared-Rides contract with the city of Houston. They say it would in effect put them out of business. Shared Ride is a door to door service that's provided by cabs or shuttles from Houston area airports. The owners of Texans Shuttle Service say if Yellow Cab gets the exclusive contract from the city they'll have to shut down their business and layoff more than 60 people. The city council has not voted on the contract yet. We're told a decision could come near the end of the month.

It is knowen that, the big fish always eats the small ones to survive. It is also a commen practice in the developed countries, to make small companies such as Texan shuttle out of business to make the big comanies to come out of the hole they dipped in. However, In this case it is not what is attempting to kill the helpless one, but it is who that was elected by the help of the minority vote, (mr. Mayer).
ReplyDeleteAfter all, this issue shouldn't be brought on the table at all. THE CITY IS GROWING, INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS BECAME ATTRACTED TO HOUSTON, THE AIRPORT SYSTEM IS DEMANDING BETTER TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM ON THE OTHER HAND, HOUSTON IS THE MOST POLUTED CITY NEEDS ATTENTION( by reducing the number of taxi in the city of Houston and increasing the number of large vans such as schuttle comanies) We can meet the expectation of the Federal government and the rest of the civilized world. But if the plan is to make local companies out of business and bring others to the city, it will be personal and it will upset most of the minority bisuness owners and local resedents.
My advice to the city councel is very simple, Think before you make the final decision and support minority owned and opperated bisunesses in Houston.
