It was in 1938 when Orson Welles now infamous radio adaption of the War of The Worlds fooled millions of Americans. It led them to believe there was an alien invasion happening and it was the end of the world. Fast forward about 68 years and tune into 97.9 The Boxx in Houston, Texas and you'll find the same scenario just not as impactful or significant. Thousands of Boxx listeners thought they were in the middle of The War of The Radio Disc Jockeys. The local controversy comes after two radio air personalities Jay Mac and G-Man claimed they were beefing about who was the true free style rap king in Houston. Also, other on air talent claimed after a major feud both Mac and G-Man had been suspended. This comes on the heels of the local radio station facing a full frontal attack by local activist Quanell X for playing an unedited version of the song "I'm N Luv with A Stripper." So with so many factors coming into play the public was left believing their favorite radio station was falling apart before their very eyes. But what some in the public didn't know that while the protest by Quanell X was very real, the feuding air personalities was not. The Boxx revealed Monday but The Insite learned last Thursday that the feud between the personalities was just a promotion to a Thursday night rap contest.
