HARRIS COUNTY PROSECUTOR JOE OWMBY GETS INDICTMENTS AGAINST TWO PASADENA COPS!

COPS: HE TRIPPED AND FELL!

Wednesday afternoon Harris County prosecurot Joe Owmby walked out of the Grand Jury room and made the announcement: Two Pasadena Police Officers have been indicted for negligent homicide in death of an inmate in 2007.

Pasadena police originally said Pedro Gonzales, 51, tripped and fell as two officers escorted to him a patrol car on July 21. In September, investigators ruled the death a homicide, meaning Gonzales was killed by an act of others.

Owmby said he believes the officers mishandled Gonzales.

"The officers should have known about Gonzale's frail condition," Owmby said.

A witness to Gonzales' arrest called 911 to report what she perceived to be police brutality.

"It could be as simple as someone stepped out on the road and got run over by a bus. It wasn't a natural death, and it wasn't a suicide," said Greg Cagle, an attorney for officers Jason W. Buckaloo and Christopher S. Jones.

The officers said Gonzales resisted arrest. He was found dead in a Pasadena Jail cell about five hours after his arrest.

Its not the cops saying he just "tripped and fell", that's just the part that Robert Crowe of the Chronicle thought would be interesting to focus on in his write-up.

If the evidence suggested they did it than good for Owmby. The only problem is that other people have gone to the Harris County D.A.Public Integrity Unit and asked for Investigations/Charges against other County Officials and they fall on deaf ears. Why is that Joe? Oh yeah, All of Public Integrity cases must be approved by Chuckie. Where is the REAL INTEGRITY? It's not in the Harris County D.A.'s Office!
