
JUST SWORN IN AND SHE'S TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS!
Houston Independent School District Board of Trustee Member and 1st Vice-President Paula M. Harris met with members of the Texas Congressional Delegation while in Washington, DC serving as a distinguished panelist considering proposals for the National Science Foundation’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S-STEM) program.
While in Washington, Trustee Harris met with and shared her vision for District IV with Representative Gene Green (29th CD), Representative Al Green (9th CD) and key staff in the office of Representative Sheila Jackson Lee (18th CD).
According to Trustee Harris, “It was an amazing experience to have an opportunity to meet with key leaders of our Congressional Delegation who are actively engaged in the process of improving the lives of all Texans. Their courage further instilled in me a sense of community responsibility and reinvigorated my commitment to do all I can to be a strong and effective education policy leader on behalf of the thousands of students enrolled in the Houston Independent School District”.
