SENATOR KYLE JANEK CALLS IT QUITS!

HE WANTS TO SPEND MORE TIME WITH THE FAMILY!

State Senator Kyle Janek is stepping down June 2nd.
The Republican from Houston made the announcement today at the Texas Capitol. Janek says he's leaving the Senate for personal reasons. The anesthesiologist says he wants to spend more time with wife and three sons -- ages nine, seven and three -- who were at the Austin news conference. Janek was first elected to the Texas Senate in 2002. He previously served in the Texas House. Janek was instrumental in the 2007 passage of the high school steroids tests bill. The six million dollar program is expected to begin next month. Janek represents District 17, which includes parts of Harris, Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston, Chambers and Jefferson counties. Once Janek departs, Republicans will hold a 19-11 majority in the Texas Senate.
