CHIEF HURTT WILL ANNOUNCE A NEW OFFICE WEDNESDAY!

DENVER HARBOR GETS A BIT SAFER!

At an 11:30 a.m. news conference TODAY (Wednesday, Feb. 13), Houston Police Chief Harold Hurtt will join other dignitaries, including Harris County Precinct 6 Constable Victor Trevino, to announce the opening of the Denver Harbor Storefront in its new offices at 6402 Market Street.

In addition, Chief Hurtt will announce the next phase of a “Keep Houston Safe” public safety campaign recently started in the city’s Denver Harbor area in what is known as 9C20s beat.

This latest “Keep Houston Safe” public safety campaign is being managed by officers at the HPD Northeast Patrol Division. The campaign seeks to increase patrols through an overtime program designed to target and lower specific crimes in the area.

The HPD Mobile Community Outreach Police Station (MCOPS) vehicle will be at the news conference site and will be utilized by officers to disseminate literature in the community, encourage citizens to sign up to help "Keep Houston Safe" and improve police community relations. The MCOPS vehicle was acquired by HPD through the U.S. Attorney’s Office
and the federal grant-funded Weed and Seed program.
