HOUSTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE HONORING AFRICAN AMERICAN PUBLICATIONS!

EXTRA, EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT THE LEGACY AWARDS!












The Insite dropped by the Legacy Awards Ceremony Friday night at the Ensemble Theatre. It was put on by Houston Community College. It's an event designed to pay tribute to pioneering African American publications and newspapers in Houston. The honorees were Houston Defender, African American News and Issues, Houston Forward Times, The Houston Sun, The Informer, International Guardian and The Ebony Voice. The awards are bestowed by HCC's Chancellor and Trustees. Attending Friday's ceremony were Mary Spangler, Michael P. Williams, Yolanda Navarro Flores, Dick and Marshall Huebner, Gladys House, Kim Davis, Terrence Jackson, Roy Malonson, Sonceria Messiah Jiles, Congressman Al Green, Phyllis Bailey, and the list goes on. Here are the photos the Insite was able to snap at the event!

    I find it funny that you spelled it "Africam". I understand it was not intentional, but it fits in perfectly since you mentioned the African American News. For anyone that has ever read this publication you know that misspellings are plenty and most of the time they get caught up with using big words and never get to the main points of most topics. They really need to cut down on usage of "Woebeit" and "Inasmuch"!!!

    Isiah,

    I enjoy checking out your web site, but what's with the technical glitches that make it difficult to navigate all the time?

    You could enjoy more visitors if you can get this problem resolved.

    Keep up those postings..they are always fun to see and read.
