Houston City Council Member Peter Brown is proud to announce today that he is backing Barack Obama for president.
“Barack Obama has distinguished himself on the presidential campaign with a powerful and inspiring message, which exemplifies traditional American values and aspirations,” Brown says, “He has energized the broadest cross-section of the American populace in a way we have not seen before. I strongly encourage Houstonians to support Senator Obama and his mission to build a more prosperous, secure, inclusive and livable America.”
Council Member Brown, a third-generation Houstonian, is a distinguished architect and urban planner, long-time good government and quality of life civic leader. His agenda mirrors that of Senator Obama: building a strong, inclusive economy, protecting our environment, and improving neighborhood life. Like Senator Obama, Council Member Brown understands that meaningful change, leading to economic and social progress, involves “new think”.
“It is not just change in Washington, D.C.; it is change all across America and is the kind of change we need here in Houston, Texas,” Council Member Brown says, “Senator Obama gives us real hope for a more united and civil society.”
It amazes me in this year of political policy wonks and media personalities that think they know everything, like Beck, O’Rielly, Limbaugh and others, that we would be happy with any of the choices for President. Michelle Obama hasnt’ been proud of the U.S. to this date in time, wow? Ok, so you will say, you are taking her words out of context, ok, so the Obama campaign and Obama himself doesn’t do that, they did it Bill Clinton and his comments on Obama’s record and Fairytale discussion? They are all sound bites and no substance. I am beginning to think there is nothing political to be proud of. American had better wake up or China will financially own us, and the rest of the world will continue to hate us. We are screwed if you ask me and any politican that is running for president at this point time is an egocentric and just in it for them. We have a old White man, a half white man and a white women who wants to be a white man. So where is the real choice?

I think that Peter Brown is the best. You have given to the community in unmeasurable amounts of support. You listen to the people, and in this day and time, that is a quality to cherish. We appreciate you and look forward to you being our next mayor.
