ANDREA WHITE AND WINSTON CHURCHILL'S GREAT-GRANDSON AT THE MUSEUM!

THE RECIPIENT OF THE CHAMPION OF LITERACY AWARD!

It was billed as an evening with Houston's First Lady. That lady is Andrea White. The event was held in her honor to promote literacy in Houston. On hand for the party at the Museum of Natural Science was the great- grandson of Winston Churchill - Jonathan Sandys. Dozens of people turned up for the big event. Mrs. White signed copies of her book 'Window Boy' for a steady stream of fans. They took home the young adult novel that tells the story of a physically challenged ten-year old boy, Sam, and his imaginary advisor, Winston "Winnie" Churchill, whose story is brought to life everyday when Sam's British caretaker reads to him. In recognition of Sir Winston's role in the novel, Literacy Advance of Houston, working with Houston Community College, arranged for Sandys to come to Houston for the event. Mrs. White also received the Champion of Literacy Award for her role as advocate for reading in the community. Lots of familiar faces in the crowd including Ms. Shag, Debbie Hartman, Khambrell Marshal, Larry Blackerby, David Jones, Pat Jones, Lisa Faronda, Jonathan Sandys and I think Mayor Bill White showed up to support his wife around 8pm well after the Insite hit the door!

Mayor White needs to be careful. The first lady is showing some skin with that low cut dress, and Churchill's grandson has his hands all over her!!!

    lol!

Ok, Mr. Mayor - time to put your personal home ahead of city hall.
