LAURIE WILLIAMSON GETS 15 YEARS IN PRISON FOR HER MEDICAL CHILD ABUSE!
Imagine a mother intentionally making her children sick so she can pocket money. You don't have to imagine. Just take a look at Laurie Williamson's case. The Spring, Texas mother has already been convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison in what is being seen as the first major conviction of its kind in the country. Prosecutors say Williamson abused her children ranging ages from 6 to 11. How? She forced them to remain in wheelchairs even though they could walk. She placed her daughter on a feeding tube for most of her life even though the 6 year old girl was capable of eating. She took the children according to prosecutors to more than 600 doctor visits claiming they were sick even though they weren't. Mike Trent is the assistant Harris County District Attorney who handled the case. He says Williamson also told the Make A Wish Foundation one of her children was dying. The benefit - a free trip to Disney World. So what was her motivation? Money according to investigators. Williamson was able to collect more than $150,000 in donations from people in the community who wanted to help her sick children. The nurse's aide, who knew the symptoms to use, was able to convince doctors to give her children unnecessary surgeries according to court records. Trent says this case is groundbreaking because it's the first time he can recall a mother has been given stiff jail time for medically abusing her children. Children who are now healthy and fine once they were taken away from the 40 year old. I was able to obtain video of the 6 year old girl eating food by mouth for the first time ever in the hospital once removed from Williamson's custody. Remember the little girl was put on a feeding tube by her mother for years. The trial in Harris County took four weeks with the jury returning with a sentence of 15 years. Trent says he wanted life. But for now Laurie Williamson is in prison for a long time. What are you feelings about this case?

How shocking! The Harris County DA's office doing something right for once! Typically this Office will not prosecute women for these type of offenses. This is an area they actually are overly "politically correct". Just research the Family Violence Chief Prosecutor, Jane Waters. She refuses to prosecute women who falsely accuse men of domestic violence even when witnesses and the accusing women themselves admit they are lying. I am glad they finally prosecuted a lying harmful person such as this. Janie girl, you too can help families from lying hurtful women who destroy families. Do what is right Jane.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure 15 years is enough time to serve...this woman has scarred these children for a lifetime!
ReplyDeletePerhaps 'mom' should be required to use a wheelchair while she serves out her sentence. I'm positive that Laurie would be happy with a feeding tube for the next 15 years.
Laurie has also risked the help for other children who truly are ill...as people who would normally consider donating funds for a sick child might give pause, with this specific case in mind.

Is medical abuse that common a thing?
Unbelievable. This woman babysat my child from 2 months old until he was a year old, when she lives in Austin. My son is the same age as her oldest son, and they played together daily. Scares the h_ll out of me to think what could have been going on in her house with my sweet son there. 15 years could never be enough.
