The resignation of Assistant District Attorney and former DA candidate Kelly Siegler will shake the Harris County District attorney's office more than than that of her former boss, a defense attorney said Friday.
Houston Defense Attorney George Parnham said he's known Siegler for years, and her departure will be more significant than that of her former boss, Chuck Rosenthal, who resigned in February amid an e-mail scandal.
"People with the D.A.'s office-- either veterans or those who are just getting out of law school-- looked up to Kelly Siegler," Parnham said.
The news of Siegler's resignation was announced Friday afternoon when Interim District Attorney Kenneth Magidson sent out a prepared statement to media outlets.
Siegler could not be reached for a comment at the Harris County District Attorney's Office or her home, but sources close to the office say her resignation is effective immediately.
In an interview with FOX 26, Magidson said Siegler is a pioneered whose leadership in the office will be missed.
"I think her departure will be the final blow to the turning of the powers that be in the D.A.'s office," he said.
In April, Sielger lost to former District Court Judge Pat Lykos in the Republican runoff for Harris County DA.
Though Siegler may have resigned from the Harris County Sheriff's Office, she is already set to handle a capital murder trial in Wharton County.
hasta la vista!

BYE..BYE loser. We are so glad that show-boating wicked witch is gone. usa1, you are a moran. And yes, we are happy. I am a conservative white male in a government job. I have known this evil, lying, deceitful bitch personally and can name plenty more who are glad this woman is gone. This is'nt the forum, but if the public only knew the things she has done behind close doors to "get a conviction", the feds would have a feild day. Don't waste our time with her defense. She was out for herself, her reputation and her ego. The VOTERS did what was right and removed more of the Rosenthal bottom feeding scum.
ReplyDeleteshe resigned and it can be argued that she was a pretty dishonest, scummy ada. she did get a lot od convictions thanks to a screwed up crime lab.
ReplyDeleteYes, just think of all the poor, innocent, missunderstood, fine, upstanding citizens of society that were locked away because of her dishonesty (HUGE eye roll). Kelly was a bitch. Kelley was frigid. Kelley was mean. Kelley was no friend of wrong-doers and liberals. Buyt you know what? She TOOK OUT THE TRASH, and did a dam good job of it. Rest assured, those that will commit crimes have won a serious victory against people who choose to hide there heads in the sand and think that i'm okay, your okay, we are all okay, okay? Grow up, silly utopians!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a case of SOUR GRAPES.
ReplyDeleteDEFENDERS OF KELLY ? So let's get this right. If you defend the deceitful, lying, unethical and illegal methods kelly used to convict what may or may not be "trash", that is ok, ethical, moral and legal? Sounds like more of you HC ADA's are still worried about your jobs with a new DA coming in. You should worry.
ReplyDeleteFor the rosenthal (LOL),siegler,m.brown,j.waters and d.nassar era Jack Booted Thugs and those who believe in their wicked(illegal) ways, lest I remind you and inform the public and the great voters of Harris County about the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Article 2.01-The Duties of the District Attorneys.**This is the state law MANDATING the responsibilities as a criminal prosecutor. The last two lines read:"it SHALL be the primary duties of the prosecuting attorneys,Not to convict, but to see that justice is done. They SHALL NOT suppress facts or secrete witnesses capable of establishing the innocence of the accused." Kelly supporters and those like her there.... do we really need to go into anymore discussion on this or other Blogs on this subject? If you have a shred of morality in your body, if you recall your ETHICAL DUTY, you will shut up and sit down about her and chuck.
If you lost the election would you stay? I wouldn't, I'd move on too.
ReplyDeleteLet's see some proof of all this alledged deceit, lies, unethical
ReplyDeleteand illegal methods from
Seigler. I'll wait...
She kicked ass and you know it. Your loss.
USA 1 you are a Rosenthal/Sigler whore who who probably worked for the two. The unfortunate incident of the mexican national killing HPD Officer Rodney Johnson was horrible. The mex. national would easily be convicted and given the needle as he should have. Typical of the Harris County DA's office, they withheld a tape of the defense to surprise the jury with at the last minute. Maybe you forgot your Rules of Evidence or were you sleeping during that class? Or maybe it is because it has ALWAYS been standard operating procedure for rosenthal,siegler,waters,nasser-bradley and don't forget vic w. This is everday back door illegal crap from out of this office. So she was aggressive and got crooks off the street. We mandate our officers do the same thing or they are prosecuted for doing it the wrong way. Why then does the prosecutors get a free ride? When is a special prosecutor going to come in and expose them as they get prosecuted like the Duke lacrosse prosecutor? We can find new prosecutors to kick ass and operate within the paramiters of the law. Harris County politics operates through intimidation so getting the current ADA's to actually talk is slim to none. But get the ones who no long work there and don't have to practice defense work in front of the ex-ADA judges, and they'll tell you the truth about kelly, chuck, mark b.,waters and more. And if you are who I think you are....YOU KNOW IT's TRUE ! Our loss was that so much damage has been done under the dictaorship of chuck and kelly. We are glad you are gone kelly.....and in the words of Steve Martin, "into the mud scum queen!" You are wher you belong
ReplyDeleteNo, Im not a Siegler whore, you are obviously just a Siegler hater! haha
ReplyDeleteYou know good and well she's the
best. Quit lumping her in with
Old Chuck. Be sure to let us know when You have some evidence of her wrongdoing. I'm not going to hold my breath, that's for sure. Even you know she took care of business and got the bad guys off the street but it sems you are just looking for someone to crucify for some reason.
And BTW, he's not a Mexican National, he's an illegal alien. Enough with the PC crap.
USA1, either way you are in the same slime ball business as she WAS. I say slime b/c its not gratifying when you withhold evidence and witnesses. I noticed you didn't respond to what you know to be true about that topic. When Yall do that it makes the whole bunch look like slime balls. We gladly turn down our noses to slimey defense lawyers who do this, right? Why not the slimey ADA's you do not abide by the law? Bottom line, the truth is out on these scum bags. The media found out, the voters found out and now they are out. LOL She's gone, usa1, move on with your life. Oh yeah, new admin comes in with the new pres in Jan.,huh? Just don't be another ambulance chaser. Good Luck w/that. "Stop the madness, just say No to Duke Lacross and rosenthal/siegler ADA's! Thank you Harris County voters, you finally got it right! :)
ReplyDeleteSo baically, just because she was on Rosenthal's staff she's guilty, even though you can't come up with any evidence. M-kay. Someone seems to be lacking the basic premise of
ReplyDeletelaw and order. You know, the whole innocent until proven guilty thing. And no, I'm not a lawyer. Wrong again.
MEANWHILE, she's going to Wharton County to prosecute the murderer
of Texas Game Warden Justin Hurst. I'm sure she'll seek the death penalty and get it because she believes in justice.
She's outta here. Great job voters.
Exepct more life in prison instead of death penalties now...
USA1, it doesn't matter what you do or how much cheese you have with your whine, she is gone. There is plenty that we all know about her MISDEEDS. Know one ever said we can't come up with any evidence. Telling you in this BLOG is not where or when. But it's coming. Since you seem so protective of her you should know some of what we are mentioning. If you truely don't know her then you are speaking about a subject that is out of your league. There is an investigative entity that is not through with HARRIS County as a whole. Stay tuned and watch the show. While you cuddle with her you'll get a front row seat.
ReplyDeleteusa1 can you say that you have seen first hand, an execution in Huntsville or anywhere? When you can say you were part of it from trial to needle let me know. I cheerish that we have it and use it. I believe in it to the fullest. I also do not want our ADA's with holding evidence, witnesses or any other under the table tactics just to get someone on deathrow. If they are guilty, the jury will do the right thing more times than not. They are the jury, not kelly and not you. And thanks again, WE THE VOTERS are glad we rid ouselves of her kind. Get over it, find another job and move on......both of you.
Be sure to let me know if/when
ReplyDeleteyou ever come up with anything.
(fat chance).
Like I say, I'm certainly not going to hold my breath.
Oh, and I'm not going anywhere. Better get used to me. 8^P
I will keep you updated on the Justin Hurst Capital Murder Case... I'm sure
ReplyDeleteyou can't wait to throw some more unproven allegations around about her. It seems to be your style.
It just eats you up, huh. I could careless about the Wharton case. Harris County is rid of the this manipulator of justice. Have you ever seen how these smaller counties run their business? She'll fit right in down there where anything goes. Glad you like it.
ReplyDeleteWe''l be seeing the real kel some more in other venues. Proof? More to come princess! usa1....xoxoxox
My goodness...I can't believe you guys have been going at it this long. But I do appreciate you all taking the time to come here and read. Let's not get too rowdy and pull out guns and knives here on the Insite. But once again, keep the comments coming...
