ROSLYN SHORTER VERSUS SUE LOVELL FOR DNC POST!

THE BIG RACE IS ON!

The Insite has heard about the rumor of Sue Lovell being challenged for her Democratic National Committee post for weeks. It was a month ago that I got confirmation. That challenge to the second term Houston city council member comes from Roslyn Shorter. She's the young woman who introduced Barack Obama at the Toyota Center when he came to Houston several months ago. Shorter's reps sent the Insite this press release about her bid against Sue Lovell:

National Committeewoman.

Did You Not Know? Have You Not Heard? Roslyn Shorter is nothing short of par excellent when considering your DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEEWOMAN choice to represent this GREAT State of Texas. Her electric personality and eclectic appeal represents the foundation of the State of Texas; CHARGE, CHALLENGE AND CHANGE. She possesses the tenacity of Congresswoman Barbara Jordan, the zeal of Governor Ann Richards and the intrinsic value of our nation. The DNC would be incomplete without Roslyn "Rozzy" Shorter. A native Houstonian, "Rozzy" was born for this purpose and is destined for greatness! With your help, her evolution continues as the Democratic National Committeewoman.

WHO IS ROSLYN "ROZZY" SHORTER?
As a candidate supported by many elected officials, California State Senator Alex Padilla has recognized "Rozzy" for outstanding community involvement. Rozzy seeks your vote to continue advocacy on behalf of the community, more specifically, youth, women, the disadvantaged, disabled and labor workers.

Rozzy has welcomed the opportunity to flourish in the community by occupying the positions of Chair of Logistics and Operations for the Senate District 13 Convention, Precinct Convention Chair, Delegate Chair, Barack Obama Rally Leader at the Toyota Center, Caucus Trainer in the State of Texas, Mistress of Ceremony for the Woman for Obama Rally, HIV/AIDS activist, IAM Labor Union Member, A. Philip Randolph Institute Member and a Sustaining Member of the Texas Democratic Party.

WHY VOTE FOR "ROZZY " SHORTER?

v Committed!
"Rozzy" is a remarkable, innovative and internationally well traveled young lady who is committed to changing the world.

TEll Sue Lovell to turn out the lights, because the DNC party is over.

I like her, but this is what she gets for supporting Hillary "they are mistreating me because I am a women" Clinton.

I wouldn't be hitting the switch so fast. If "Rozzy" was so damn talented and confident, why did she originally challenge the Dean of the House, Rep. Senfronia Thompson, for her spot.

I don't give a tinkers damn who someone supports for President, in the end its what they do for the entire Democratic Party, year in and year out and on that alone, when you measure Sue Lovell against "Rozzy", Rozzy comes up way short.

It is time for CHANGE! For so long, we just allow people to occupy positions and perform only mediocre task and we use to tolerate it. It won't be long before Senfronia Thompson is removed from her position if she doesn't step up to the plate. As for now, just in case Sue Lovell doesn't realize, the Democratic Party is a diverse party and she only represents what she looks like. So, if we want to measure Sue's position, it's tunneled vision because she lacks diversity in her approach! As for Rozzy, I had an opportunity to see her hands on approach and how she connects with the community! She is fresh, young, powerful, talented and brilliant and the Democratic Party is in dire need of this element, if we are to regain our strength. Let's keep in mind, she almost lost her seat on the council and Rozzy had nothing to do with that! Evidently, she is not doing her job there either! Who knows, maybe Rozzy will take her city council seat NEXT!

Lovell will be GONE and never hold office again.

Look for term limits in Houston to be ABOLISHED once the new Mayor wins in 2009.

Why is it when BO supporters are asked why they support him all they can say is "It's time for a change?" Really, tell me what he or Rozzy are going to change and how. Wishin and hopin isn't chance...we've all be hoping bush would be impeached or worse but it still hasn't happened. When you talk about CHANGE be specific. Sue has served the Democratic party well and faithfully for many, many years...what has Rozzy done and why is she more qualified?

I think the really story here is even thought Sue preserved her DNC spot thanks in part by the betrayal of Jolanda Jones of the African American community, will she get to have the same testimony in her At Large Houston City Council Race I think it should be noted that at the convention Sue Lovel lost her own district. And then mascarated like an Obama supporter after showing up drunk to the SD 13 Election and using profane language to describe the Obama supports. No worries some victories are sweeter and Council member Sue should not be comfortable better call California now. I love the montrose communities but you don't get to treat other comunities disrespectfully and keep your seat.
