Ok, it's been all over the news and all the talking heads are talking about. President Barack Obama's first 100 days in office. It's time for the Insite readers to weigh in on this situation. Take a look at all the President has and has not done while in office. I'd like to see you grade him on the scale of A to F. Leave your score in the comment secition and why!
I'd give him an A-. He's made virtually all of his campaign promises come true in his first 100 days. Obama rocks.
ReplyDeleteHe gets A for the hard work and turning around the economy.
ReplyDeleteD- Throwing $$ (that we don't even have) at the economy doesn't fix it.
ReplyDeleteConveniently adding to the sin tax
breaking his promise of no new taxes of any kind.
Breaking his promise not to pass any new bills before letting the public look at them for 5 days.
Jetsetting around the globe kissing our enemys' rear ends. Bowing to
Saudis and paling around with Hugo Chavez.
Hiring that clueless illegal alien apologist Janet N. to head Homeland Security.
Filling his cabinet with tax evaders.
Just a few off the top of my head.
I don't have time for a line by line analysis like USA1 did, but... do you really have to ask me? USA1 was too generous - I'd fail him.
ReplyDeleteI give him a B+ without ranting on and on and on!
ReplyDeleteI will give him an A he has done so much in such a short period of time. He will get our nation back on track. It is soo funny to me how Steven would fail him. This is the same man who thought that Bush was doing an excellent job. Steve you might want to look down, your bigotry is showing.
ReplyDeleteF.
ReplyDeleteCan I get out of financial credit trouble by spending even more money that I don't have? President Obama thinks so.
I also have an issue with bailing anyone out. In America, if you make bad decisions, you have a right to go out of business. That should hold true for the donut shop down the street, as well as with the big banks and auto makers.
None of those would leave a void that sooner or later would be filled.
Lastly the Government should NEVER find itself with the power to fire anyone in the private sector.
North Korea is firing rockets defying the UN.
ReplyDeleteRussian bombers have landed in Cuba.
Terrorists now have a training manual on American interrogation techniques.
Obama has been caught lying about earmarks. The government is actively working to silence critics.
How many of his cabinet picks had to withdraw for being exposed as tax cheats?
The head of the treasury department in a tax cheat and wants to tell us we need to fork over more of our money!
The government has taken over private businesses that would make the old USSR proud.
I rate an F!
C-.....but this whole CIA rubbish is making me lean towards a failing grade...
ReplyDeleteM for Marxist.
ReplyDeleteRoyko
usa1, we already knew exactly what you were going to say...you're like hannity jr...i really hope you get paid by fox news to recite their talking points...
ReplyDeletelet's be honest, has Obama done anything that you didn't expect going into his Presidency? You knew what his agenda was bc he told us all during the campaign...He is your President now, so why walk around angry all of the time??? He is not going anywhere for another 7 and a half years...it's time to give up the hate and move on...
I have an idea...if you are so angry and Patriotic about Your country, why don't you use your time more wisely and wirte your President, Congressman, and State Representatives letters with Your suggestions for making this country better...I just feel like your ideas are bigger than a little blog by a local newscaster (no offense Isiah, I love your blog)...Your ideas should be being considered by our leaders so they can maybe alter the initiatives that you feel are failing us...C'mon USA1, step your game up...Offer some legitimate alternatives to fix the mess that our country is in as opposed to hate hate hate and nitpicking every little thing this guy does...
Fathertime- Perhaps you shouldn't pretend to know me. I do write and contact my representatives with
ReplyDeletemy thoughts and suggestions. See
what happens when you spout off about things you know nothing of?
tsk tsk tsk
Now what is your grade for the President and why? Please don't tell me you only log onto this website to follow me and Steve around flinging race cards...haha
It sure seems like it.
F- all promises - no results. the world is much more dangerosu than it was prior to the third week in January.
ReplyDeleteHow much of the taxpayer'smoney was money was wasted in getting new photos of air force one yesterday?
usa1, I did not pretend to know you, I said what I said because I don't know you. I just know that you seem to have a lot (although not very substantive) to say in here. I'm glad that you express your opinions with your political leaders as well. Let me ask you something, have you thought about getting into politics? What about running in some local elections and starting your own political career. I ask because it seems like you are angry with current establishment all around. I like and respect people with passion, whether I agree with them or not. I do not know you. And the only reason it seems that I am following you is because you seem to hit the blog topics before I do. See I usually get on here every other day or couple of days to check out the topics. Based on the fact that you have usually inserted your comments already, I figure you get on here more than I do. My comments are usually directed at you because negativity sells, and your comments are generally negative when it comes to "most" serious topics, especially when it deals with Obama. I would respect your passion if you added a little substance to your arguments. I must admit, your report card in here for Pres Obama was about detailed as I've seen you get (forgive me if you've done more substantive pieces, I just have not seen them bc I don't see all of your posts).
ReplyDeleteLet me tell you a little about me so you will understand where I am coming from and there will be no more misunderstandings. I am a thinker, and a natural skeptic. I do not believe everything I hear and will go and conduct my own research to verify, confirm, and educate myself. As a result, I like people who think for themselves. I like passionate people and those who truly believe what they are saying. I like people who offer substantive arguments when they insert their opinion. Most importantly, I like people who are solutions oriented; as opposed to just sitting around complaining all day everyday. I love America, and want to see it prosper. I want us to all get along (sounds cheesy and cliche, but I really do). Think about it, if we as Americans can't bond together and show unity as a country, how do you expect us to effectively fight the evils that lurk and are trying to destroy us. There is so much hate going back and forth between political parties and left and right, it just makes me sick. What I try to do is play devil's advocate, because I like to understand both sides of every argument. Until one knows both sides of the argument, he can not truly know how he truly feels. So I said all of that to say, I don't have a problem with you or your opinions, especially if you are able to back them up with substantive thoughts and facts. I will say this in all honesty, you seem to offer neither at times and it just comes off as hate. Even in your response to me, very sarcastic and wrong in my opinion. What "race card" are you talking about? C'mon step your game up, you can do better than that. I don't pull any cards except for the "man" card. I will talk to you like a man if you talk to me like one. There is a way for us to have a civilized and substantive discussion in here without personal attacks and I will apologize for calling you "hannity jr;" however, I watch Hannity when I can and he said the exact, I mean the exact thing you said here. I'll tell you who I do respect, Rush Limbaugh. He not only gives his opinion, but he offers substantive alternatives for the problems that he points out. Now I don't agree with everything he says, but I know that he thinks for himself and he isn't just reciting someone elses thoughts. Well, I've gotten a wordy, but I speak from the heart and sometimes that takes up a lot of space.
Now, to answer your question. I give Obama a B- overall. He is the President so I will grade him on how well I think he has "presided." I think he has done a good job of "attempting" to repair America's respectable (not likable, bc you can't make people like you) standing in the world. I will say I do not harp on things that I think are that big a deal in the long run. Obama made a mistake when he bowed to the Saudi guy, but honestly I don't think it will have any impact on anything in the future.
As for the economy, I give him a B. He has not raised taxes (as he promised). As for the bailouts, I do not agree with them; however, I will reserve complete judgment until a little time has passed and we are able to see any of the effects. I think Washington DC is a city of groupthink, and bc Bush started the bailouts, I think Obama followed suit, believing in his mind that something had to be done to stop the bleeding. Like I said, I do not agree with bailing out corporations, especially when they are likely to fail anyway at some point. If these companies are failing, giving them money is not the answer. Let them go bankrupt and that should force them to change the way they do business and hopefully become successful. The government needs to stay as far away from the private sector as possible.
As for (Obama) sending more troops into Afghanistan, I am torn. Although I do not want to see any more of our young men and women being sent off into harm's way, I understand that we have to attempt to finish what we started.
I have been disappointed in some of Obama's appointments. I think he hasn't appointed the best folks available, but that is just me.
Overall, he as done a decent job in his first 100 days, although not steller or horrible. So, like I said, I give him a B- overall considering none of us know what it means to be President. Only 44 Americans in history know what all it takes.
Too long, didn't read. You wasted your time.
ReplyDeleteFathertime,
ReplyDeleteI did read your post.
You realize that our Kenyan-born Big Brother can not raise your taxes, it is Congress, and they are about to do that. If the President even wants to think about a second term, he must veto it, or he'll face the same backlash President "Read my lips" Bush (41) encountered.
BHO is the most devisive President I can recall, and his administration is comprised of the most radical, Progressive-Leftist zealots Rhom could muster. Along with a few tax cheats...but Democrats don't mind higher taxes, because too many just evade paying taxes.
How could this be viewed as a positive?
Any grade above a D- is generous. As we should allow him a sliver of credit for not stopping our Navy Seals from terminating those three pirates. I know, he obstructed the rescue, but it succeeded in spite of his efforts to muck it up.
Our once great and powerful nation is infected with a Marxist cancer, and will soon be consumed by the enemies of individual liberty and personal property rights.
Royko
Royko, I agree that BHO may be the most devisive but only because of reasons that have nothing to do with politics...Bush was jsut as devisive in my opinion bc of the war issue...you cannot tell me otherwise...i understand nothing this guy can do will ever change your opinion, so will you continue to beat the same drum for the next eight years..silver lining mean anything to you? Oh yes, as devisive as he is, he will win another term and a Republican will not win once he is done...
ReplyDeleteB-b-b-but Bush! *rolling eyes*
